At least they are in unison: every Dem candidate for Pres hates the 2A

I have never understood why anyone that values the 2nd Amendment would ever even consider voting Democrat (at the national and Federal level). But I guess that there are those so committed to other parts of the Democrat agenda, such as their total support to bankrupting taxpayers by lavishly supporting the unionized public employees, or the Democrat fanatical support for the right to kill babies, especially when the candidate might not have voiced any direct position on gun rights at all. But for 2020 it is clear that the Democrats want to take away your gun rights, and your guns as well. Every one of the twenty or so announced candidates for the Democrat nomination have voiced support for draconian gun control laws, some through legislation but several of the candidates have said that they will achieve full gun control by executive fiat. As a gun owner, and gun rights supporter the choice could not be more clear. Vote Democrat to aid the effort to confiscate your guns and take away your rights as guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment, or vote for Trump and keep and your guns and your gun rights, limited as they are. You might think Trump boorish and even unbalanced, but it is pretty clear he is far to the Right of the Democrats when it comes to gun issues, and also has brought us a strong economy and an increasingly strong position on foreign relations. I look forward to reading the comments of those that will try, for themselves, to justify voting Democrat and living in the fantasy delusion that doing so will not hurt our 2nd Amendment rights. Let the discussion begin.

From trolling Reddit, Twitter, and YouTube, there’s lots of Dems, brain dead libs, and leftists that support the 2A.

The democratic candidates are doing everything they can to bury themselves this go ‘round. They want to take our rights away, handicap our economy to play Robin Hood, virtue signaling every possible angle, and most importantly, putting illegals before Americans.

These two sentences tell you a lot about our current political climate and culture:

1) We are advised to not judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.

2) Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money? What's interesting is the first group 'worked for' their money but the second didn't.

Just saying.

Now let's not go insulting and dividing our side. There are plenty of pro gun people who will vote D for other personal reasons. (purple off)

Anyone know how to do purple text in Tapatalk?

Use brackets instead of parentheses.

(Color=800080)Insert sarcasm here.(/color)

ETA: that used to be purple... looks blue, now.

ETA 2: Google says 800080 is still purple... I guess Tapatalk isn't displaying correctly.

The reason is the welfare system is considered a "safety net" that for moral reasons we owe it to the downtrodden to take care of them, whether or not this can be worked into the annual budget. Most Americans would agree that we should not be having the old, the orphans and widows, etc. starve in the streets while we have an affluent economy. Of course human nature being what it is, the so-called safety net keeps expanding to include the people who won't work as well as those that can't work. The rise of the single mom family is directly linked to the availability of welfare, but it is referred to as a necessity, i.e., the safety net. Somehow those on the Left see no problem with someone getting welfare, and food stamps, and free lunches and breakfasts for their kids at school, plus free health care, and subsidized housing, and free child care, and on and on while affording a state of the art flat screen TV and the latest smart phone. Most on the Left seem to be financially illiterate. They say the "government" should help out the needy, and of course the definition of "needy" keeps expanding, without even thinking that the "government" means the rest of us taxpayers.

And as to Social Security, if the system had operated as it was intended, it would be permanently self sustaining. But of course politicians saw it as a "goody bag" to use to bribe voters as well as to pay for all the waste and over spending that they so love to do. If the money paid in to the Social Security system had actually been invested in the economy and kept totally separate from general revenue of the government we likely would be in good shape. But these incoming funds were spent by the government on day to day government expenses, and an "IOU" given to the Social Security Administration Trust Fund in return. That would be as if you had $1,000 in the bank, and then decided to spend $1,000 on a new TV. But rather than just taking the money out of the bank because it was intended for other purposes (like the funds going into the SS Trust Fund are intended for payment to recipients at a later date), you take the money out and spend it but replace it with an IOU. Then you tell the world that you have the new TV and still have the bank account. An IOU to yourself is of course meaningless. So when politicians say that the Trust Fund is okay for now, that means it has a pile of IOU's but no real money at all. When those IOU's are needed to pay out benefits to SS recipients, the government has to, of course, use general revenues. Once all the IOU's are gone things are really no different since the benefits then will have to come out of general revenues, just as they have been doing for decades. Had the funds remained in the Trust Fund (the "lock box") and better yet, invested in the stock market or other assets, none of the problems would likely occur. Then to add to the equation is the enormous growth in the number of people drawing early benefits on the basis of being disabled. But most of these people are not disabled in the sense that most of us think of what that word means. Most are "unable to work due to disability" from things like "mental illness". obesity, bad backs that cannot be definitively diagnosed but are based mostly on just the complaint of the lazy person, etc. If drawing disability benefits were limited to verifiable and true disabilities, and not for conditions either unprovable or due to the individual's own behavior (like obesity or alcoholism) then that entire system would be in good shape.

Tapatalk is entering the correct value.

Testing that color and text

Use brackets instead of parentheses.

Insert sarcasm here.

Testing the Forum's "purple" #800080.

Testing what I usually use, "Violet" #ee82ee.

Darkening the Violet some to #ee40ee.

Darkening some more to #e000e0.

Darkening some more to #d000d0.

Darkening some more to #b000b0.

Pick one.

understanding this color model:

This is RGB, Red Green Blue, the arbitrary primary colors of light transmission.

This is 24 bit color, 8 bits is used for each color, hexadecimal digits are used to represent the 8 bits, from 00 to FF.

White is #FFFFFF, Black is #000000, %50 grey is #808080, one notch darker is #7F7F7F.

Something looks reddish if it has a higher value for the first two hex digits than the other two groups.

An equal value of your R and your B groups puts you in the purplish-zone.
