  1. Exactly right. Whoever thought that Illinois (Chicago) would be forced to comply with a ‘shall issue’ CCW requirement? Shite does happen to our adversaries.
  2. I had my CCL renewal not show up for 2 months. I called the ISP, after 18 speed-dial fast attempts, and actually got to talk to someone helpful. I explained the situation, she put me on hold, came back and said my CCL was there in a file. The post office returned it buy mistake as I had my mail temporarily stopped for vacation. After verifying the address with me, she resent it.
  3. Surprising that any thinking person would register now. There is no up-side, pending litigation, ambiguity on the rules — procrastination will payoff.
  4. "I'm counting on people to continue to act the way they do with our FOID law, which is a voluntary compliance, because if they don't, they run the risk of a crime and imprisonment," said bill sponsor and State Rep. Bob Morgan, D-Highwood. If it’s voluntary why is there punishment? Link to quote added by mauserme.
  5. It’s just silly to waste time registering washers and screws, thinking that this is some way diddles the ISP. Since the law is vague, a vague compliance would be arguably consistent. If one were inclined to register, then simply register “(1) each box of AW parts and accessories”. Since there are no serial numbers or ways of uniquely identifying anything, singly or in groups, just group it.
  6. Is there a finite list of banned “accessories” to select from that are supposed to be disclosed? Is a magazine, a spare bolt carrier group, front site post or spare firing pin an “accessory”?
  7. Yup, I tried to buy a plastic hand grip from Brownells. This grip is used on bolt rifle chassis, but, because it’s on ARs as well, they wouldn’t ship it to Illinois.
  8. Well, nobody is going to register a prohibited gun that wasn’t turned in, in the forced buy back so that leaves Fudd guns to register LOL.
  9. I hope you are just being sarcastic. The Australian “buy back” was pegged at 19% compliance by the governments own analysis. New Zealand around 10%.
