cls74 Posted September 15, 2017 at 10:32 PM Share Posted September 15, 2017 at 10:32 PM I think it has finally sunk in that saving this state is not an option and they want no part of what lies ahead. There's just too much happening right now to believe that it is a mere coincidence that so many IL officials have stated they will not seek reelection or that they realize their vote may cost them their seat. Lou Posted September 15, 2017 at 11:05 PM Share Posted September 15, 2017 at 11:05 PM MORE stunning news. History in the making and changing political landscapes all around. I can't help but think with Radagno, Ms. Madigan , Curry and others just quiting they are all just tired of the Madigan imposed gridlock.
C0untZer0 Posted September 15, 2017 at 11:06 PM Share Posted September 15, 2017 at 11:06 PM Even though Illinois is failing, there is still plenty of money to be made in corrupt governance. Wave after wave of corrupt politicians rode Detroit all the way into bankruptcy, getting rich along the way.

Tango7 Posted September 16, 2017 at 08:56 PM Share Posted September 16, 2017 at 08:56 PM I think it's part of the goal to let {R}'s win, then play political "hot potato" by having them be the party in charge when the state collapses - even though they weren't the primary party who got us into the mess. OldMarineVet Posted September 17, 2017 at 03:13 PM Share Posted September 17, 2017 at 03:13 PM I'm thinking some of these people bailing out could be receiving a reward with a nice job in the private sector.
MrTriple Posted September 17, 2017 at 11:44 PM Share Posted September 17, 2017 at 11:44 PM I think it's part of the goal to let {R}'s win, then play political "hot potato" by having them be the party in charge when the state collapses - even though they weren't the primary party who got us into the mess.Normally I'd agree, but given that the entire state will collapse I doubt there'd be anyone left to vote. So yeah, the Dems might win, but they'd still be nothing but lords of a garbage dump.
