spec5 Posted January 6, 2016 at 04:34 PM Share Posted January 6, 2016 at 04:34 PM Why not visit your Rep or Senator with your letters. If pro-carry they will at least be sympathetic and it might help. If they are anti they will be pathetic and say that is what we wanted to have happen. Grandpa59 Posted January 6, 2016 at 04:46 PM Share Posted January 6, 2016 at 04:46 PM don't worry, you'll get more!one observation i made viewing your letters. I received a dec 4th letter saying leo objection and another 30 days needed. Wouldn't i have received another letter dated dec.28th just as you received? ?? Today is already over the 30 days they asked for since the original letter dated dec 4th. What do you make of that besides they can do whatever they want and make us wait? Windermere Posted January 6, 2016 at 06:37 PM Author Share Posted January 6, 2016 at 06:37 PM Have u tried calling ISP? Maybe they can give you some insight as to what's going on, but usually they are pretty tight lipped about these matters. They pass the blame on to the review board and tell you to sit tight. It seems to me like someone just dropped the ball on updating your status. Does it still say under review or under board review?

They have rules and guidelines but somehow forgot to layout consequences. Kind of like the government suggesting you complete your income tax forms and file by 4/15, but nobody knows what to do if you don't.

04 Cobra Posted January 11, 2016 at 05:49 PM Share Posted January 11, 2016 at 05:49 PM CCLRB more like the "Mystery Board" or the "Secret Seven"!!! I've read post after post after post here and seems the " CCLRB" is just the " Blackhole" of the unknown! 1) If you receive and Objection to your application... It's unknown to you for months ,where the objection came from.2) If the "CCLRB" requests additional information from you, It's unknown, when you will here back from them.... could be months!3) It's unknown how many " Need an additional 30 day letters" you will receive!4) It's unknown when the "Boards" individual schedules permit them to meet.5) It's unknown if there is a FULL "Board" to review objections.6) It's unknown if and when the " Board" does meet how many applications get reviewed.7) CCLRB is Exempt from FOIA request, so all information stays hidden What is known..... Sheriff Dart has a team of 25 individuals that have been tasked to object to CCL applications on a daily basis, which means the CCLRB backlog, continues to grow at a daily rate. I'm frustrated with this process and the lack of movement. I've not lived in Cook County for over 15 years, I just moved from Kane County April 2015 to be closer to my child and work. I applied for my CCL in Aug 2015 and got "Lawn Darted"!! Guess I can expect 10 more of those "Need additional 30 days". So, really I'm mad at myself!!! RANT OFF!!!! Glockenstein Posted January 12, 2016 at 07:18 PM Share Posted January 12, 2016 at 07:18 PM I have 10 of those 30 day letters.... funny thing is I passed homeland security background checks....((This is what Homeland Security background check…CHECKS!1. County Criminal Records Check (Felony & Misdemeanor)2. Federal Criminal Records Check3. 'Nationwide' & 'Statewide' Criminal Records Check4. National Wants & Warrants5. Sex Offender Registry Check6. Global Homeland Security Search7. International Criminal Record Checks8. Fugitive List9. FINGERPRINTS!)) I have a active perc card...((A Permanent Employee Registration Card or PERC is a document to inform your future employers that you have passed a Criminal Background Check through fingerprint submission. This way they are assured that you have not committed any felonies. Anyone who wants to apply for any type of security related work in the state of Illinois must first obtain his Illinois PERC Card.)) I have a active twic card ((The Transportation Worker Identification Credential (or TWIC) program is a Transportation Security Administration and U.S. Coast Guard initiative in the United States. The TWIC program provides a tamper-resistant biometric credential to maritime workers requiring unescorted access to secure areas of port facilities, outer continental shelf facilities, and vessels regulated under the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, or MTSA, and all U.S. Coast Guard credentialed merchant mariners.)) and FOID. poppy Posted January 16, 2016 at 12:10 AM Share Posted January 16, 2016 at 12:10 AM Just curious. Do most of you receiving these LEO objections sort of suspect there might be objections do to some incident in the past involving law enforcement or are they sometimes sent to people who never had any issues with LEOs in their past? It sounds like they sometimes go a bit overboard objecting to some relatively minor thing that happened years ago.

Our term of endearment is called "being Darted". Tom Dart has fouled up the works for everyone that has their app go to the review board. The board is swamped because of old TOMMY boy. Guns for him and his but none for us unwashed peasants. Dart will object if you ever even spit on the sidewalk. Notsomuch everywhere else.
BobPistol Posted January 18, 2016 at 03:35 AM Share Posted January 18, 2016 at 03:35 AM So what is happening is that the CCLRB is taking its sweet time, because nobody hired anyone for the roles yet? So more ghost payrollers were hired and that's why nothing actually gets done?

So more ghost payrollers were hired and that's why nothing actually gets done? No, that is not what is happening. Cook Co. Sheriff Tom Dart is bogging down the works with frivolous objections. The board is working its tail off to try and get the backlog under control.
