Title says it all.  I ordered a stripped lower online on June 10th and it was at my FFL on June 19.  I filled out the 4473 on June 20th and it came back delayed as we chatted.  I was told to come back on that Friday figuring the delay wouldn't be any longer than that.  Wrong.  Wasted trip.  I've called ISP a few times but only been sent to voicemail.  No return calls.  I'm not calling every day but I am pretty tired of the run around.  I've touch bases with my FFL a few times and it's still showing up as delayed.

Who should I contact regarding this incredible delay?  Sick of being denied my property.  This isn't the first time I've had a delay but it seems like the longest!

Why doesn't he just run the background check again?  It's probably a computer glitch.

How ridiculous. I always get delayed and so does my son. Every time. It gets cleared up in a day or so however. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Time to just start finishing 80% lowers and bypass the stupidity.

I ran your son's FOID earlier today for the S&W Bodyguard that he's buying from me and he wasn't delayed at all.

Yes. I’ve done an 80% in the past and I better get used to the idea that if I want it, I’m gonna have to build it. Holding my property in limbo stinks though.

That's me buying it from you. My son isn't on IC.

It always gets delayed when my FFL runs the Nics check.

I’ve contacted the FFL a few times over the weeks and the reply has been, “delayed”. I know it’s just a stripped lower and it could have been something more expensive to moan about. But when it comes time for another carry piece or HD option, I would dread waiting months for it. I guess I’ll go the 80% route for that as well...

NCIS check isn't done by ISP...

That's the general number, but you should be able to ask to be transferred to the NCIS department.

If harmonncis__130201201411.png answers, have him transfer you to NICS instead ;-)

IL uses their own FTIP system.  The dealer never calls NICS.
