Please change the "quoting" of posts format.

Responding to one person brings every quote that person responded to in his/her reply into a quote bracket. Whether it is of merit or not.

Nobody cares about that conversation, only the last post that was made and responded to. This is the only forum I have ever been a part of that uses such bracketing nonsense stacking replies.

You have to work through so many hoops to highlight the response you are responding to it almost becomes laughable. There is nothing 2A that makes it beneficial for this forum to be the only one using such. If it's not, I'd love a link to another forum utilizing the same posting practice.

When I want to quote only one reply, and not the whole "stack", I copy the text I want, and copy it between the following brackets, minus the $:

Comes out like this:

re board upgrade:

Progress continues, yes, it's very complicated.  Trying to clean somethings up beforehand so that we don't carry them over with the upgrade. I would hope to see the upgrade complete sometime this summer.

Perhaps with the board upgrade that is (slowly) in progress. Hopefully there will be an opportunity to beta test and provide constructive feedback for consideration if any customization is needed or willing to be considered. Would need to see what the new version brings,

Copy and paste what you want to quote.  Highlight it and click on the quote icon.

I don't understand why so many can't do that too.

I'll pile on. Weeding through a basket of quotes on a mobile device is the pits.

I have to add the brackets and quote /quote manually...or thats what I do and then you get this box

eta: I see a quote icon button if I request desktop mode from my tablet in more reply options.

I just hit quote and delete what I don't want.

I find that cleaning up what I'm quoting helps clarify my thoughts.

I do that, but only on the computer. On the phone it's a nightmare.
