If there is any truth to this story and he had a valid CCL.. don't they have the same #? How do you get one without the other? The charges don't make any sense? This story stinks!!!!

An Uber driver who strayed across a center line in Lakeview was found to be carrying two guns, 59 rounds of ammunition

As officers pulled a fully-loaded .357 revolver from Taylor’s waistband, a zip lock bag containing suspect cannabis fell to the ground...... " OF COURSE IS DID"

around 1:45 a.m.saw a “green leafy substance” on his clothing, prosecutors said. " Maybe he had a sandwich?"

fully-loaded .357 revolver ( 5-6 rounds total) 9-millimeter handgun loaded with 15 live rounds ( 15-16 rounds total) , fully-loaded 31-round magazine.... Given the benefit of the doubt thats 53 rounds not 59 , where are the 6 missing rounds?

digital scale; 200 small clear blue zip lock bags...... Never mentions how much dope IF ANY was found to support manufacture and delivery! Any Attorney that can walk and chew gum will see him clear of this.

Sounds like typical police procedure. Throw a half dozen charges at them and maybe one or two will stick...

They throw a ton of charges at em because each thing is an individual crime. Then, under the "one act, one crime" rule, the majority get tossed because one cannot be prosecuted for, say, DUI as well as DUI over 0.08 as well as aggravated DUI (just an example). It's SOP to charge for every offense, then plea it down to absolutely nothing. Well, around here it is. Seen people plead down from a dozen Class X felonies to a Class 4 and get probation but lately the feds (out of Central District) have been picking people up for stuff like meth and felon in possession.

I'd like to think it's because they're dealing with repeat offenders and, well, the one guy who was picked up by the US Attorney was arrested for felon in possession while on parole for felon in possession (after he was paroled for felon in possession), each time paroled 1/3 of his way through his sentence.

Honestly, a pot delivery boy caught carrying ought to be picked up by the feds. That's...bad.

I don't think this is going to be the best test case for magazines.

Nope, I agree. The only other magazine charge I recall, the guy also had weed as well as other charges. Dont know what happened then.

Only mag case I can think of was a guy who they went after on a drug warrant years back but they didn't find anything illegal at his house outside of some "high capacity" magazines. It was an FU Charge.

I would beg to differ. Each charge is an 'alleged' or possible crime. Multiple charges help to keep the arresting officer's butt covered and gives the DA more avenues to gain a possible conviction.

I'm not anti-police or anything but let's just be honest and call it all what it really is
