Raw Power Posted April 23, 2018 at 07:48 PM Share Posted April 23, 2018 at 07:48 PM I'm looking to learn the fundamentals of long range shooting. Will likely be using 6.5 Creedmore 140gr ELD match and an RPR. I am still figuring out my glass. Has anyone had good experience with anyone in IL or the surrounding states? I've found a couple of good options that are 1000+ miles away, but I'd prefer to start a little closer to home, so I can get the basics under my belt first. Twostarrz Posted April 23, 2018 at 08:14 PM Share Posted April 23, 2018 at 08:14 PM There is an option of shooting 600 yds at Aurora Sportsman’s club in waterman. It is a private club but I think they do have people doing classes occasionally for public. I am a member there and that is the only rifle range I care to shoot on. Pretty cool watching my kids vapor trail arching into the target.

Raw Power Posted April 24, 2018 at 02:57 PM Author Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 02:57 PM Thanks for the info folks! Those Safer USA classes look like a great starting point, but unfortunately I'm busy on the next three class dates.
anonymous too Posted April 24, 2018 at 10:55 PM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 10:55 PM Try the Shooter Ready long range estimation game. Don't buy the program, it sucks. Just offers more calibers to play with and a practice range. Isn't worth the money. Here's the MIL turret adjustment version. There is also a MOA turret adjustment demo too. Needs to run flash player. https://www.shooterready.com/metricmildemo.html
