She says they worked with gun advocates. I'd like to know who that was.

She is flat out lying, there is no way she worked with gun advocates and courts, her bill is so riddled with Constitutional infringements any gun advocate or cout that she claims AOK'd that should be kicked to the curb neither deserves the title.

They tried to work with gun advocates. They all told her NO!

ICHV ILGVP, Everytown, MDA, The Ghost of Sarah Brady, etc.

The Gun Control/Ban/Grab Advocates

Yes, but she said gun advocates implying they had someone supposedly pro 2A in the meetings. They may not have listened to them but...

that's what she wanted people to think.

that's why the gun grabbers call themselves "gun violence prevention advocates" and/or "gun safety advocates".

Well, isnt this interesting (from another site)...

..."Ill tell you who she worked with. Jay Keller. Who, after the fiasco with the Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association (remember Springfield Armory and Rock River Arms and the sellout of 2016?), has been picked up by the National Shooting Sports Foundation"...

..."Ive cautioned the NSSF that exactly this would happen weeks ago. We had a couple of heated phone calls in fact as I pleaded the case for getting Keller out of the room when Willis Gun Violence Coalition team met, just as NRA, ISRA and Illinois Carry all got out and stayed out"...

..."Sure enough, Kathleen Willis in using the fact the Jay was/is in the room, literally and proverbially, to claim that she has the input, support and cooperation of gun advocates for her slimy, racist proposed legislation. Its all to fool the people who dont know any better you know, those Illinois legislators who are agnostic on guns.

Doubt me about Jay being a party to the meeting(s)? Contact NSSF. Ask for Jake"...

...and I saw this elsewhere

Rather than focus messages on the lobbyist, I'd say deal with it by asking the NSSF why they're working on an anti-2A bill.

Publish far and wide that the NSSF is lobbying for gun control in Illinois.

Etc.

Let the NSSF deal with the person they chose to represent them.

Well, it's not like the guy doesn't have a history. They are therefore without excuse.

The 'We don't want to take your guns...but we want to take your guns.' Crowd

Nah! They don’t want to disarm you, you can keep grandpas single shot break action shotgun or rifle, black powder revolvers, black poweder rifles, single shot flintlock rifles, but you will need a separate license for those concealable single shot flintlock pistols.

Everything else... Into the grinder !

Isn’t it lovely when they “compromise”......

Funny they're doing this now because it would be more than enough to get FOID declared unconstitutional. The $10/10 yrs, mail in app, don't have to pay for prints, I can see that surviving judicial scrutiny. $50/5, prints, apply in person, ISP has practically unlimited time to issue will not survive. Keep going, Wheeler.

You have more faith in the courts than me at this point and it takes years to get a court decision. In the meantime, they implement their insane bill that does nothing to stop crime and imposes its onerous provisions on the law abiding.

I am going through the process of getting my wife to get her FOID so there are no issues while traveling to see family in an adjoining state when I might want to bring some of my items to enjoy with the family in a FREE state, not a socialist one like Illinois. My FOID does not expire for two more years.

I just realized that FOID applications are completely online now, no more paper applications accepted, which means a lot of it is already automated. So if they have automated things that means it should be cheaper and easier for the ISP and there is no need for increased costs.

Quite frankly they ”require” your drivers license or state ID number so there is no need for a separate FOID card at all. It could be linked to a state ID or DL, as a matter of fact, they could allow “all”, and just have a deny code making it easier to identify who you cannot sell to.

Firearm dealers could have a portal and enter a state ID or DL number and it would work he same way the FOID card does now but with a reduced cost and less systems to maintain. You get a violent felony or other restriction, your DL or State ID is invalid till you pickup your new one, or it’s just through the Database check. It’s 2019 and technology and access to online immediate information to police and firearm dealers is at their finger tips within a few minutes.

The FOID really is nothing more than a direct obstruction, delay, ‘Infringment’ for law abiding citizens.

hahaha...2019 and they cant get an app that supports mobile devices or changed to remove focus on a button if another button is active so it doesnt cause problems? The ISP has a lot of "should's" and not enough "is's"

I wonder if a FOIA inquiry would give up how many $M they have in the Firearm Services fund dedicated to administering the FOID/CCL?

I’m still waiting on one I filed months ago in regards to internal processes for FOID/CCL

Let's say I apply to renew my FOID 90 days before it expires and in true ISP form day 91 rolls around and I still have not received a new FOID. Do I get to continue to exercise my 2A rights on the expired card (like with FCCL)? What happens to my FCCL when my FOID goes beyond its renewal date? How will a store/range know I have applied and waiting for the new card when I decide to buy more ammo and spend some time shooting?

Yes, as long as you have applied your foid remains active, just like ccl. Your ccl will remain active too. As far as a store or range, it's up to them whether or not they want to accept it. Easy enough to check it on the ISP website if it's working.

I suspect the mega stores and big boxes won't accept it, but the smaller guys that decide to stay in business will find a way to make it work.

So, I notice there still is no option to oppose the amendment for the witness slip, just the original bill. Am I missing something? Should we wait or file now?

We're waiting for the amendment.

A Call to Action will be sent later today regarding phone calls and the possibility of last minute witness slips.

Did she take out the requirement to appear in person at an ISP district headquarters to apply ?
