Anti-Gun Group to Protest Opening of Portillo's in Deerfield

I came across this article today while browsing the Patch: http://patch.com/illinois/deerfield/anti-gun-group-protest-opening-portillos-deerfield

Lee Goodman, author of Too Many Rights and Too Many Guns, is organizing a demonstration against a new Portillo's set to open in Deerfield on Tuesday the 15th.

The article goes on to say that the group will be demonstrating starting at 10:30am on the 15th and I'm just curious if anyone from Illinois Carry or ISRA will be there to support a pro-constitution business?

I also haven't seen any email alerts from ISRA, although in fairness this article was only published yesterday.

Unfortunately, I have class at CLC that morning and wouldn't be able to make it there until roughly noon. Although I would love to stop off to pick up lunch on my way home.

Mr. Goodman's demonstration last year, outside of Northbrook Mariano's saw possibly 8-12 demonstrators, and Mariano's so far has refused to post.

Interestingly enough, I learned that another Mariano's is under construction in Bannockburn at Waukegan and Halfday Rd. So I would expect Goodman to rally his troops to that location on opening day.

Lee Goodman's book can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/069238751X/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=069238751X&linkCode=as2&tag=peacefcommun-20&linkId=TI6TPTXBQWSY6UHT

Reading the reviews are good for laughs, that's the only reason I posted this link.

Anti-Gun Group Plans Mob Action to Block Opening of New Restaurant in Deerfield

ACTION ALERT - Deerfield Area Members: Stand in defiance of the Bloomberg-funded attempt to block the opening of the new Portillo's Restaurant in Deerfield on Tuesday November 15

Bloomberg's puppets are at it again, fresh from acting in a mob fashion in neighboring Glencoe, this group seeks to shutter any store that doesn't run things "their way", that is, with a no-guns sign in the window.

They have found another business to target, this week, picking on the new Portillo's Restaurant set to open in Deerfield on Tuesday morning.

Portillo's locations don't post "no-guns" signs in locations in Illinois, and like the rest of the Illinois, there are no negative incidents involving Illinois CCL holders.

Please stop by and show this group of clowns that they can't bully business owners,
please drop by for Portillo's grand opening and sample their wares, if you can. You might meet some of your ISRA members from the area who will be there.

Tuesday, November 15, 10:30 AM
Portillo's, 700 Lake Cook Rd, Deerfield, IL 60015

Are these idiots going to harass every new business that opens? Or just the ones on the North Shore so the bored wives of uber rich plastic surgeons and corporate attorneys don't have to drive their Range Rovers too far from home?

Well then looks like I'll be swinging by around noon on Tuesday. I probably won't be carrying because I'll be coming straight from school where having guns, even lawfully carried guns in one's vehicle, is a no-no. Although, I have my doubts that their group will even be there all that long because it's gonna be a chilly day and they'll probably wanna catch the train to go down to Chicago to be with their own kind at an anti-Trump protest.

I'll be wearing my Glock cap if anyone else is gonna be there.

Wait, what? Where did you hear that? If you have a CCL, you can lawfully have a gun in your car in the school parking lot or the parking lot of any other statutorily-prohibited site. The only places you can't legally have a gun in your car are federally-controlled property such as a post office, military installation, or nuclear facility.

This is an important freedom that the ISRA fought hard to get. Definitely avail yourself of the opportunity.

I work about 20 minutes from the Deerfield Portillo's. I will try to make it tomorrow for lunch. Should I wear a "Make America Great Again" hat...? Will they still be protesting at lunchtime?

In all seriousness, how do I indicate that I oppose their POV other than by spending my money there?
