It would be awesome if the state kept a public list of the ones it has licensed.

Illinois Concealed Carry Classes and $30.00 Firearm Transfers

I just renewed my CCL with them, Gina Versansky is a great instructor. In talking with her she told me that she applied for her Illinois License and will continue to do $30.00 FFL transfers.

According to my brother-in-law, Apocalypse Hardware in Batavia will do FFL transfers for $30. I recommend calling as I have not verified myself.

My gunsmith (who gave up doing FFL transfers with the new law) also told me that BAT Arms in Plano will do them too. 18 W. Main St 331-248-1032

Lastly, Kraaaken gave me the name of Vince Ducati in Naperville. www.gunguyonline.com

Shoot Point Blank will also transfer, but they’re expensive. I believe around $75.

The Point Blank website says $75, which means every Point Blank charges that, even ones not in Illinois. I transferred a firearm at Point Blank in Naperville after it opened (like 2 years ago). At the time, I was charged $30 for the transfer, $5 for the FTIP fee, and tax on it all.

If anyone is looking, I recently had a lovely experience at "Check Your 6' out in Palatine on Northwest Highway.

 -Limited evening hours

 -$30 first transfer

 -$25 additional transfers

-super easy to arrange things with the seller

I will absolutely be back for my next transfer.

You can send a copy of your FOID card, Driver’s License and invoice via e-mail with the information of purchase and call the office to make an appointment to fill out a 4473.  Firearms Safety Academy is also listed with some companies as a preferred dealer and they already have our license information on file. New locations just contact us and we will submit our FFL to the location where you purchased your firearm(s).

Guys-

Thanks very much for the info- this is very helpful since my FFL decided to cease doing business.

Mods- can we make a sticky for reference- that other thread is very old/outdated.

Thanks!

Another good FFL that is staying in business is Mike Bethman of 7 Sigma Arms in Manhattan. He charges $30.00 per transfer and you can download a copy of his FFL on his website if you're buying from out of state. He works out of his home and therefore has some of the best prices around. Because he works out of his home, initial contact should be made by email.

Here's his contact info:
