  1. Yes, your expiration date will remain the same as it is now, regardless of your new approval date. Check the website for your renewal button. I think it is 90 days prior to expiration, but don't know for sure. Just did my renewal late February. Took 3 weeks to get approved and an additional week for a new card, ... (I changed my hair color as it's more gray than my younger days LOL).
  2. I just renewed my CCL in February. My FOID expiration moved to 10 years from the CCL renewal approval date.
  3. I have been asked to take temporary possession of a firearm from a family member, for an undetermined time frame, and ultimately will give the firearm to a different family member, once the recipient gets their FOID. No money will be exchanged and this is not a sale. What paperwork is required to legally "hold" and transfer as described?
  4. My FOID renewal timeline: Renewed: 8/2/19 QC_Verfified: 10/2/19 Approved: 10/7/19 Card Received: 10/12/19
  5. I am in the midst of a FOID renewal as well. On 10/2, 60 days in, status changed to QC_Verified.
  6. Did you get a letter from the ISP to renew your FOID? Or did you check on the website? Mine is coming up fro renewal soon. My FOID came do a month ago. No letter. I have my FOID and CCL renewal on my calendar. Oh yeah, no renewal letter for my CCL either.
  7. Although your FOID is valid during the renewal process, the clerk at your ammo store will object when the card shows past its expiration date.
  8. My FOID expires 11/1/19. No renew button yet. I am anticipating the 90 days before expiration .... which would be 8/1.
