Thumb break on OWB Holster, yay or nay?

Birthday is coming up soon and one of the things I am considering asking my wife for (AKA ordering it myself and saying it is from her) is an OWB holster for my CZ P-07 with a TLR-1HL. It's my bedside gun, so I'm thinking of getting a paddle holster so I can more easily toss it on to wear around the house if I want to. I may wear it out if I'm wearing a heavy coat or something and don't expect to take it off, but otherwise it'll mostly be for around the house and keeping something on me when I'm shooting out at the improvised range at my in-laws.

So, my question as stated in the title, would you guys go upgrade to Level 2 retention for such a holster? I'm leaning that way especially having a 2 year old son who likes being picked up and is always running up to us grabbing at us. If it was purely for CCW I probably wouldn't, but since it will probably be openly on my belt around the house it got me thinking. This is the holster I'm looking at, and paying the $20 to add Level 2 retention. I'm waiting to hear back on if the thumb break allows for Condition 1 Carry (I'm assuming it does, though the holster I have for my CZ-75B doesn't so I don't want to go off of assumptions). Even if it doesn't though, I may just swap the P-07 back to a decocker setup instead of a safety setup. I've thought about doing that anyway, but I've kept it as a safety setup for uniformity of manual of arms between my commonly used handguns (CZ-75B, Shield w/ safety, M&P 22).

Im not going to roll around on the ground so no thumb break for me either i would get a good leather pancake style

My only issue with a pancake style is I would really prefer the easy on/off of a paddle. Mainly in case I felt the need to toss it on quickly

Only takes me about 15 seconds to unbuckle my belt and put a holster on

You're clearly more coordinated than I am, haha. I'll have to think about it though.

I use a Safariland 518 paddle . It’s a leather paddle with a thumb break.
It’s stable and does not move around. It’s a quality holster and stands up to a lot of abuse.

The thumb break is something I’ve really gotten used to.
yea, it can be a bit awkward to remove because of the internal hook but to me that’s a plus, it isn’t going anywhere.

One problem you might have is finding one for a CZ. Safariland has discontinued them but there are a lot of ones around for Glocks or S&W.

I like the idea of a thumb break, but I've only bought one holster (Hogue) with one, and I don't really like it.

The mechanism on the Hogue is located in between my hip and the gun, so the gun sits farther off my body. For a compact gun, it's like the gun is trying to tip over from being top heavy, even when my belt is cinched tightly.

The Hogue is marketed as concealable. It's not. For a full-size gun, I'd be inclined to try out a Safariland holster and forgo any pretense at concealing. For home carry, that's probably fine.

I have a couple OWB Desantis thumb break holsters, one for shield and one for G19

Both identical, they have three belt holes this allows the cant to be adjustable, for me it allows me to carry right strong side or cross draw.

They are good leather holsters

I like that your gun rides high on the belt easier to CC

Good retention never hurts, so why not have thumb break, I can draw just as fast as any other holster

If I needed to run or had to go hands on with someone my gun's not falling out

If someone tried to grab my gun the thumb break my slow them down enough for to protect my possession

Love em they are my favorite
