So I'm looking for a large inflatable, best I found is a 6 foot dinosaur but if anyone has any idea's on anything else that's not terribly expensive I'm open for ideas.

I'm going to carefully fill it with great stuff and take it to my range.

I mean where else do you get to shoot a dinosaur?

OMG that's awesome!!!

Swans are pretty popular at the neighborhood pool. The last one I saw was about 6 foot big. Garage sales always have crap like this. Great idea but you're only going to get 1 shot on it. Don't forget an air compressor!
Depends on what he fills it with..

Liquid urethane foam ? I can easily imagine that going really wrong, though.

Mixed welding gas...

Yeah , get the mixture set to a neutral flame , snuff it out and proceed to fill the object . Just make sure you don't have any static electricity built up when you handle it.

I do caution against doing this. I saw some co-workers doing this late one night at work only they were using balloons . I told them how dumb an idea it was because of the static elect. but they thought there was nothing to worry about. After filling several balloons , they then decided they should place them in a big box. I warned them about this also to no avail. Luckily when the balloons went off the one who was placing them in the box only got singed eyebrows , some smoking hair , and a face that was a little more red then it was before the balloons went off.

Lifted a 2.5 car garage 3 inches on one end with a 10 ton jack, drilled 5 holds through the concrete and used 3 cans of great stuff, this was a year ago, still perfect. I don't think it's ever going anywhere. I think many holes with slow fills I can't image this dino would take more then 2 cans.

Would be interesting to shoot a can of that stuff but not on my range ;)

We we putting pot metal (old rag machines) in muriatic acid when we were kids with a pop bottle and balloons when his dad suggested it, we used a 50 gallon garbage bag and put a wick on it. Long story short that was one of the trips we made to the hospital, his pants as well as a good 20 feet of grass was gone.

*sigh*

I can remember getting excited about finding a bowling ball for $1 at a garage sale./

Or when a trip to the outdoor range meant stopping at Walmart for a flat of their cheapest aerosol spray paint.cans.

I can't say that either one represented my finest hour, but it sure was fun.

I'm still working on what is best paint, you want it to "stick" and dry fast, the best luck I have had is with engine paint raw steel whatever and ar500 plate.

Luckily there's a big R on the way. I went there the other day wanted another carriage bearing to build another moving thing and they had like 30 different kinds of chickens. When I asked which kind runs the fastest you should have seen the look in his eyes, I was of course kidding...

If the weather is good I'l start filling up dino for the range. 20% off bed bath and beyond free shipping what I have to lose.

Save some big $$$ and hit up a craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michael's for either bulk bags of foam fill or discounted broken thick sheets of polyfoam. Same idea (making a 'solid' target that can take a bunch of hits) without dealing with the mess of the aerosol stuff. Use the polyfoam to fill either an inflatable or costume dino.

Ok I claim the FIRST AND ONLY Dinosaur range in the state of IL

Built the spinal cord with conduit wrapped with 4 inch corrugated drainage pipe and stuffed his body with much of the same tubes with disposable gloves over then ends.

Spinal cord attached from head to rear and filled....

So the only question is the water hose is still inside can I pipe propane through and have him blow fire, not sure I'm going to try that but it's a thought.

So this photo will help...

Used 2 cases they are on sale at Menards for 2.69.

There is some little pockets of air visible and I just poke and put in a squirt and it fills right up and I just cut off a knob that grows out. Unless it was big fill or still a air pressure fill pocket I didn't use duct tape.

Learned a LOT about doing something this stupid, I almost gave up after the first day but my best friend is always there in lessons us stupidity.

Other then tannerite we stay away from life threatening adventures anymore.

So I was putting tape over the jagged edges of the 4 inch tube and found it easier just to put on gloves to close the hole in the end, I suspect the stuff still pushed in some but I *think* the great stuff was shot deep inside to bind all those tubes together because he is one FAT dino.

If I did it again I would change the plan but why anyone would want to repeat this stupidity I don't know.

We will see what happens when I cart it off to the range, I'll take some pictures.

I'm pretty sure however while tough probably not shotgun tough, I don't want to destroy it instantly.
