bear226 Posted April 24, 2018 at 12:38 AM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 12:38 AM The pressure from anti-gun groups are trying to make legal gun owners into felons with the stroke of a pen driven by Bloomberg and Soares backed money to deprive legal owners of their Second Amendment rights to protect our home and family from criminals who could care less about the laws that are passed. As you can see all of the mass shootings that are in Gun Free Zones. If your family were in one of these horrific acts would you want them to be victims with no one to have the power to defend them? Our politicians that go around with armed body guards could care less about the citizens of this state as long as they and their family have protection. If they feel so strongly about the citizens of this state not having the ability to protect their family then I suggest we should have a law in this state that would prevent them from having armed body guards for them and their family. Just because they are politicians does not make them more important than the citizens of this state or the country. We elect these people to serve the people of this state and the people as a whole and not to take the opinions wealthy anti-gun groups to further their agenda to disarm the American legal owners of firearms. Their actions go against the US Constitution and the Second Amendment of our Constitution. Unfortunately it seems that the Constitution seems to be something they want to ignore. I also think in order to be eligible for running for office they need to attend a class on the Constitution and pass a test with a 100% score. If they don’t and can’t pass the test then they can’t run for office.Sincerely,

TRJ Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:08 AM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:08 AM I appreciate the effort and sentiment, but if you didn't send it yet would you be open to a little bit of constructive criticism and a red pen markup to make it read better? Open offer to anyone really. There's more than a few of us few of us on this board with strong proofreading skills and I'm sure most of us are willing to spend a few minutes to assist with some polish. Our letters and communications in business and politics are more effective when they are concise, direct and flow. No offense offered or should be taken. bear226 Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:20 AM Author Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:20 AM I am not offended and I have already sent that message. I am just sick and tired of the way this state is treating the lawful people of this state. As a hind thought maybe I should have ask for some help from people but didn't know who to turn to. I have always been straight forward in how I feel and don't speak up a lot. What in my statement do you believe is wrong?
TomKoz Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:33 AM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:33 AM It’s “couldn’t care less”. !!! Lots of people make this mistake. “Could care less” implies that someone cares some.
TRJ Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:43 AM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 01:43 AM Tom got one of the issues. Another one is "know your audience". You were writing to politicians and complaining about politicians using the word They. It read like you were unloading your gripes at the local watering hole to the barkeep. Incomplete sentences. Missing punctuation. Next time just post up here and ask. We'll help. That's what we're here for you know, to support and compliment each other's efforts. We all have the same goal. You put a lot of effort into your letter and i commend you for that. As TRJ mentioned you need to consider your audience and write accordingly. Most importantly know these people on here are more than willing to help you on just about anything pro 2A.
