[Raw Power]

I'm looking to learn the fundamentals of long range shooting. Will likely be using 6.5 Creedmore 140gr ELD match and an RPR. I am still figuring out my glass.

 

Has anyone had good experience with anyone in IL or the surrounding states? I've found a couple of good options that are 1000+ miles away, but I'd prefer to start a little closer to home, so I can get the basics under my belt first.

There is an option of shooting 600 yds at Aurora Sportsman’s club in waterman. It is a private club but I think they do have people doing classes occasionally for public. I am a member there and that is the only rifle range I care to shoot on. Pretty cool watching my kids vapor trail arching into the target.

Those Safer USA classes look like a great starting point, but unfortunately I'm busy on the next three class dates.

Try the Shooter Ready long range estimation game.  Don't buy the program, it sucks.  Just offers more calibers to play with and a practice range.  Isn't worth the money.

 

Here's the MIL turret adjustment version.  There is also a MOA turret adjustment demo too.  Needs to run flash player.
