Got my wife into shooting a couple years ago (she does great with a .22 rifle) but she is all thumbs and toes with handguns. Looking for a good introductory class for the ladies, as I don't want my lack of patience/teaching skills to dampen her enthusiasm to learn.
Any suggestions for lessons within an hour or so of Aurora?

I have to give a thumbs up for Excel. TD is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor, especially for the ladies.My wife and daughter have taken this class.

My daughter took Excel's Women's Intro course. She enjoyed it and it got her off to a good start. Highly recommended, as is anything else by Excel.

TWAW has a number of chapters, including one in Fox Valley that I believe meets in Elgin.I know guys whose wives have attended Well-Armed Woman sessions at the ISRA range, which (barely) falls within 1 hour from Aurora.The advantage of women learning from other women is that (for whatever interpersonal reasons may apply) some women are resistant to instruction from their husbands.

You mean Oak FOREST, not Oak Park. I couldn’t imagine a place to shoot in Oak Park.
