I stopped by this location today as I was driving and saw a banner that said Gun Store and Range - who wouldn't stop????

I had heard about GTR, but had never been there. According to the staff, there are new owners and it is now Caliber.

The place is very clean the range has tons of stalls. Several rental guns available but you must shoot their ammo for the rental guns. They had .38 .44 .357 revolvers as well as the typical striker fired and hammer guns.

Rifles to .308 and nearly all handgun rounds OK

The two members of the staff I spoke with were nice and willing to show me around. Zero pressure to purchase anything and nobody told me I was an idiot (like other ranges when you ask questions)

The "armory" as they call it was behind a locked cage and there is a sign which says "appt only" for the armory. There were used and new long guns and handguns.

I plan to shoot there at some point and will report back when I do.

They have a really nice range there. Staff is friendly and the range is always clean and well-lit.

I've been there a couple times and had some issues and haven't been back since.

They make you sign up on one of two computers they have sitting at desks. This probably wouldn't be an issue, but neither computer was working. By the time it was fixed, I had wasted an hour waiting to sign up.

The second time I was there, the credit card machine wasn't working so I couldn't pay via credit card. Not a huge deal since I just paid cash instead, but still an annoyance since about 20 minutes was wasted trying to get the credit card machine working. Then I enter the range and the ventilation system isn't working. I could only shoot for brief periods before I was choking on smoke. It was also so hot in there that I had sweat dripping down onto my safety glasses constantly and couldn't see. Not a very pleasant experience.

The range itself is very spacious, however I don't care for their rule that you must keep your range bag on the folding tables behind the shooting lanes. It wouldn't be so bad if they were right next to you, but they're very far away. I don't like to leave my range bag unattended like that.

Then there is the touch screen target shuttle controls which never work. You'll spend minutes at a time trying to set the thing to the correct distance and minutes more trying to "engage" it all the time wondering why it isn't responding. They're junk and just don't work.

If it really is under new management, I'd be curious to see if any of these issues are fixed.

That’s about same time I received something from them. I tried sending them something via their contact form on the web site and it failed to send due to a problem on their end. Their web page listing all of their instructors, classes and class descriptions is also no longer there. Hopefully it is just an IT issue...
