**** HB 4904 Judiciary - Criminal Committee Hearing Apr 9 2018 3:00PM Stratton Building Room C-1 Springfield, IL

well assuming the veto doesn't get overridden this one's done.

These are just first time hearings of the bills already drafted, correct? Any bills coming up for another hearing/change?

Yes, filed bills, assigned to a committee and now scheduled for a hearing to see about moving to the floor. Would be nice to see the military fee and 90 day objection period pass

HB4218 W T F

or a person who voluntarily or involuntarily receives mental health treatment as an out-patient

Good bye 2A rights for seeing a councilor after a death in the family or divorce.

I have a real lot of harsh words to say that wouldn't be so family friendly but god this is getting bad.

25 (2) a person who voluntarily or involuntarily receives

26 mental health treatment as an out-patient or is otherwise

1 provided services by a public or private mental health

2 facility, and who poses a clear and present danger to

3 himself, herself, or to others.

The only changes to the existing law in that section

is the addition of "or involuntarily" and otherwise

With ALL respect, please:

Let's not start running around screaming "fire" without cause.

Oh heck no HB4851

"Amends the Firearm Concealed Carry Act. Provides that a licensee under the Act who is a current member of the General Assembly or a State employee may carry a concealed weapon on State property, except he or she shall not carry a concealed weapon on the grounds of the Capitol Complex."

Oh no you don't. One rule for all, no special classes.

In the future, if you're going to post a list similar to this - with all this information - could you please include whether the bill's author is a Republican or a Democrat? This would make it much easier to quickly identify a GOOD gun bill from a BAD gun bill. Since the the downstate "Blue Dog" Dems rarely propose gun bills and NEVER write BAD gun bills, it would rarely, if ever, result in a false alarm - since ALL the gun bills coming from Chicago Dems are BAD gun bills. If you think I'm wrong - please direct me to the last Chicago gun bill that we liked and embraced as good gun policy.

We'll see depending on the time I have to look things up...but for you, ;-), I did an edit.

While I get what you are saying one can't always rely on party affiliation, especially R's lately. I suggest to always check the bill or at least the synopsis.

This was a lot, unexpected and I was surprised to see so many bills...especially from the R's. Maybe Righters floor speech got some movement going on although there are many more other Pro bills filed I'd rather see come up.

No doubt we will hear more on these above from mauserme as it gets closer to sessions resuming.
