Technology wise, Im thinking it shouldnt be too much longer before todays firearms become obsolete. Think Star Trek type phasers, or whatever type of personal individual weapons actually get developed. Guessing the Anti 2A folks will have to shift their focus ! Side thought: 2A is much to do about being able to Carry and use weapons to defend oneself.Why is it that the mentality ill, domestic abusers, drug users, or even felons, shouldnt have that same right??? I know the above is not politically correct, but it sure seems that by limiting, actually taking away the rights from some ... for some perceived security - Has in fact lead, and continues to be a great hindrance on the Liberty and Freedom of All !! As for the mentally ill, I believe the in judicial due process before any firearm rights are denied much like most states do in regards to removing the right to vote for the mentally ill. Drug abusers is IMO nothing but a demonization tactic used to deny rights, currently 1 in 6 Americans are on 'mind altering drugs' scripted from a doctor, it's mind blowing to me that those people are not denied rights, but someone who smokes say weed is, it's a clear double standard, IMO. IMO violent felons and domestic abusers forfeited that right as long as you have or had due process. Felons: Has to be a violent felony or crime againt person. From the few first hand cases I have witnessed, the 'domestic abuse' charge and even conviction is stupid easy for a jaded ex to railroad someone with, so I personally don't believe it should be a forever thing for all domestic convictions like it is now. I have seen people get convicted of 'domestic abuse' with nothing but a better story being told by one party (generally the female) that can invoke the emotions of a jury to get a 'revenge' conviction totally void of any evidence besides she said and he said, from one attorney I talked to he said it's all too common and that the she said should never be considered beyond a reasonable doubt by a jury but it regularly is. Since our spoken goal is to stop an attack a weapon like this would revolutionize self defense...but maybe not go far enough to act as the hedge against tyranny.
