State mandated vaccinations - legal perspective

A brief article about the legality of state mandated vaccinations. Long story-short: They have the legal authority:

https://local12.com/news/coronavirus/could-employers-and-states-mandate-covid-19-vaccinations-heres-what-courts-have-ruled-cincinnati

FTA:

In the 1905 landmark case Jacobson v. Massachusetts, the United States Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of a state criminal law that required all adult inhabitants of Cambridge to get a smallpox vaccine or be fined. The Supreme Court explained that an individual’s liberty rights under the U.S. Constitution are not absolute and the mandatory vaccination law was necessary to promote public health and safety.

I'm both impressed and appalled at the fact they did this in 1905. I'm not an anti-vaxer, but I do not want me nor my family to be 1st in line.

The current approximate death rate from COVID-19 today is .0321%, the overall fatality rate for ordinary-type smallpox was about 30%! You had a 1:3 chance of dying! Big difference.

Which is EXACTLY why any mandated COVID vaccination, forced vaccination law, would be challenged, and SHOULD be struck down. the 1905 decision even states:

"But it is equally true that in every well-ordered society charged with the duty of conserving the safety of its members the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand."

Ftality rate of 30% = great dangers, fatality rate of 0.0321% is NOT a great danger.

The article headline says it all.

"COULD" employers and states.......?

Then later in the article "what if" and "can"

Can governments require vaccinations?

What if only some people must get vaccinated?

This article is the news trying to MAKE news not report news.

The quote marks are mine.

The article leads to people discussing it however. Discussions are good. I will wait awhile after it is released to get mine......... Now we can quibble about how long I will wait. Lol

The only vaccines I have have had were 50 years ago. Those were the Salk and Sabin polio vaccines and the "DPT" vaccine. I have never been diagnosed as having the flu nor have I ever felt so sick that I thought I had the flu. I have also never had a flu shot despite being a "senior" plus two other "co-morbidities" according to the corona virus "experts" (weight & HBP). H3LL, I haven't even had a wintertime cold in the last three years.

Nope Nope Nope...

My body my rules...

Agreed. (See above response)

I had to go to my C-pap Dr ( in with my lung Dr ) last week and when the nurse came in she started the normal run down about meds and such. She got to the question , " have you had your flu shot this year ?" ) and I told her no. Told her I have had 3 flu shots since I became disabled in 2005 and had gotten sick 3 times. To my surprise , she replied that she also gets sick every time she takes one but has to because of being a nurse. She stated that she certainly wouldn't take one if she wasn't required to.

I am wondering if the Covid vaccine will give me the same results.
