Bubbacs Posted October 5, 2019 at 05:27 PM Share Posted October 5, 2019 at 05:27 PM If you made a new account you will need a new e-mail account as the old one is being used! It’s taken due to you using it already Create a new e-mail with a web based service, they are almost all free. Then get the info you need You might even have to start from scratch.........IANAL

Buzzard Posted October 19, 2019 at 09:41 PM Share Posted October 19, 2019 at 09:41 PM An elderly friend (without computer or email account) needed to correct his FOID address. He was advised by a gun shop to wait because his FOID card was needing to be renewed in a month. So he waited and renewed in the middle of July, with his new address and still hasn't received his card. What is the current waiting time for renewed cards? Thanks. InterestedBystander Posted October 20, 2019 at 08:05 PM Share Posted October 20, 2019 at 08:05 PM Renewal FOIDS have 60 business days for processing. If submitted before expiration, card remains active. IMO, needs to get to a computer, log in to FOID portal and check on fee receipt and card status. Buzzard Posted October 21, 2019 at 09:14 PM Share Posted October 21, 2019 at 09:14 PM Renewal FOIDS have 60 business days for processing. If submitted before expiration, card remains active. IMO, needs to get to a computer, log in to FOID portal and check on fee receipt and card status. If you note in my first post, he needed to correct his address due to his FOID card and his state ID having different addresses listed. He had purchased an M1 Garand with my help before I became aware of the conflicting addresses. A different gun shop would not complete the transfer due to the conflicting addresses and said we'd have to correct this before they'd approve the transfer of the rifle. Then ... before we got this cleared up ... he made a silent bid on a rifle at a NRA function and ended up as the winning bid ... further jamming himself up. The gun shop has said that they've seen renewals take 70 to 90 days to arrive due to under staffing, etc. and that they would look into the current status of the renewal application should we request such. This would require me to drive some distance to his residence to achieve this, so again I'm asking .... What are the current wait times for renewals to arrive? And I realize that at best, i's a guessing game (ymmv). I just hope that it's not because of he has a state ID and not a drivers license. He's broken no laws, he just doesn't drive anymore. How can the state justify a driver license as a requirement to exercise the Second Amendment? Damn sleep check Yes, I do know MollyB's capabilities and I also have her number saved in my phone. We've met many times over the years, as I used to be much more active in the gun rights movement before the accident that left me handicapped. But I also know how busy she is and I feel that her time and attention is not necessary at this point. At best, this will work itself out very shortly, as the wait time is at the maximum expected. At worst, things may go south and it will indeed require MollyB's knowledge and expertise. Only time will tell. But thanks again, Bubbacs. I know you're trying to help as much as possible. Buzzard Posted October 25, 2019 at 01:20 AM Share Posted October 25, 2019 at 01:20 AM What a wonderful state. 60 days today that I renewed my FOID, and still nothing. It's funny (not really, long wait) you should post this. My elderly friend and I went back to the gun shop where he renewed. It turns out it's only been not quite sixty days instead of the ninety he ad told me. He had said it was mid July and the shop said it was Sept 2 when the application went in. And the ISP website says it's still under review. One never knows what these eighty some year old men are up to with these FOID cards.
unsigned Posted October 30, 2019 at 11:15 PM Share Posted October 30, 2019 at 11:15 PM What a wonderful state. 60 days today that I renewed my FOID, and still nothing.I was up for CCW renewal early in the year. Took 111 days to go active in the portal. Barely 3 months later I moved...Took about a month to get the FOID change of address, I’m assuming I’ll get the new CCW permit around Christmas. Talonap Posted January 19, 2020 at 10:28 PM Share Posted January 19, 2020 at 10:28 PM Quick question of which I can't find the answer. Where does the,"Renew", button appear on the FOID portal 90 days before expiration when I log in?
IronSam Posted January 20, 2020 at 04:31 PM Share Posted January 20, 2020 at 04:31 PM Renew will appear on your account dashboard. I also got a letter from ISP notifying me of renewal at around 90 days prior to expiration. Did my renewal online the next day and it was right on the day of expiration to receive my card.Funny part is that I had just gone through my CCL renewal a month prior and it came around a week after it expired. I would think the CCL vetting should have sped up the FOID process.

stitch58 Posted January 23, 2020 at 03:28 AM Share Posted January 23, 2020 at 03:28 AM Finally as of 1-21-2020 my status has changed to Active Issued. 78 days! Now lets see when it arrives in the mail. It was a renewal, this process shouldn't take this long. Considering I've had a FOID for many years dating back to the late 70's. We are all background checked every night that have a FOID and FCCL card. They have my fingerprints on record for when I first got my FCCL. Renewed that in 09/18, and I might add was a faster turnaround time. Hopefully the state will be able to allocate the funds for the manpower and equipment to enhance this process. Good luck everyone and I'll be watching my mailbox.

stitch58 Posted January 24, 2020 at 02:23 AM Share Posted January 24, 2020 at 02:23 AM Will miracles ever cease? Today my Renewed FOID Card arrived in the mail. It only took 79 business days ! Yesterday the status showed Active and issued as of 1/21/2020. I'm glad it's over, some people I understand are waiting 90 days or more so I shouldn't complain.
