ISRA-PVF: URGENT ALERT FOR ALL GUN OWNERS EVERYWHERE – YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

Mayor Daley’s band of antigunners is on the move in the Western Suburbs.

Dianne McGuire, Democratic candidate for the 96th District House seat, is distributing flyers promising to ban and confiscate your semiautomatic rifles, shotguns and handguns.

McGuire’s campaign personnel are also telling citizens that McGuire will, “Shut the Naperville Sportsmen’s Club down – once and for all.”

All gun owners from across Illinois, and across the nation, must band together to put a stop to Dianne McGuire.

Here is what you need to do to help save your guns.

1. Whether you live in the 96th District or not, be sure to contact that McGuire campaign headquarters at (630) 579-6696 and tell the person who answers the phone that anti-gun nonsense will not be tolerated. Remind them of what the 2nd Amendment says. Remind them that the Heller decision confirms that law-abiding citizens have an innate right to keep and bear arms. Tell the person who answers the phone that McGuire must end her attacks on law-abiding gun owners and end her plan to close down the Naperville Sportsmen’s Club.

2. Visit the ISRA-PVF web site at http://www.isra-pvf.com to learn how you can help pro-gun candidates.

3. Whether you live in the 96th District or not, be sure to visit the web site of McGuire’s pro-gun opponent, Darlene Senger at www.electsenger.com and do whatever you can to provide support to Darlene.

4. Pass this alert on to all your pro-gun friends whether they live in the 96th district or not. Also, please post this alert on all internet blogs and message boards to which you belong.

This alert paid for by the ISRA Political Victory Fund. A copy of our report is available for a fee from the Illinois State Board of Elections, Springfield, Illinois.

Does anyone have a digital copy of said flyer?

Here's at least one version.

Cool, that's the one I scanned.

FYI I dropped off a copy of Gun Facts to Dianne McGuire last Saturday and have been corresponding via e-mail for a little while.

Is this lady just misinformed and misguided or does she really subscribe to the anti philosophy?? If she can be won over, then keep working on her. If not, then just declare war on her campaign, don't waste any more time or paper and beat her at the polls.

The Dems back in the '90's found out that voting for the AWB was a sure way to lose your seat. Evidently the Chicago Dems missed that lesson. We need to use this election to prove that to them once again! If they will listen to facts and at least give it careful consideration, then work with them, if not, vote them out!!!

I honestly believe she is just misinformed, hopefully I'm not being naive, but I've provided her with info as of Sunday and have offered to answer any of her questions in person or via e-mail.

Chris, like ABolt, I applaud your efforts to change her mind, but I certainly wouldn't hold out much hope that she'll change her position in mid-campaign. She has staked out a pretty hardcore citizen disarmament agenda, and if she drops that now, she'll just look indecisive.

Well, I figure I can at least start opening a dialog in case she does become my state rep.

Believe me if she wins she will know me by name with as much as I plan on calling her then.

Never hurts to be on speaking terms with your rep, even if you're on opposite sides of the fence. You can bet when she votes on a gun issue, your smiling face will float up in her head!

Attack ads challenged in 96th District

McGuire downplays link to 'sleazy' tactics in D203 school board elections

With two weeks to go until election day, Republican Darlene Senger is swinging back against more of what she calls misleading attack ads put out by Democrat Dianne McGuire, her opponent in the 96th District state representative race.

In the latest mailing, McGuire accuses Senger of failing to show up for city council meetings by phoning in rather than attending in person.

Republican Darlene Senger, left, is criticizing Democrat Dianne McGuire's political ads in the race for 96th District state representative. Senger says the ads are misleading.

(Corey R. Minkanic/Special to The Sun)

"Darlene Senger is phoning it in at the job she has now, and she wants a promotion to state representative?" the ad states.

But council meeting minutes show that Senger is one of the most present council members. She has called in to only four city council meetings out of dozens that have been held since she was first elected in 2002. One call-in was due to sickness; another was because she was receiving job training in Minnesota.

Contrary to McGuire's claims, Senger says the fact that she called in to meetings although it was not required shows her above average dedication to her job as a council member.

"If we didn't have meetings where we could phone in, we wouldn't be able to do business," Senger said. "This is so unnecessary, this has just gotten nuts."

McGuire has a much lower attendance record for the Naperville Fair Housing Commission, on which she served from December 2006 to July, Senger said. According to city records, McGuire missed four out of 19 meetings during the year and a half she served on the commission.

McGuire's latest ad targeting Senger follows a number of other negative mailings that district residents have found in their mailboxes. For the past month, her campaign and the state Democratic Party have distributed pieces accusing Senger of raising taxes, taking "extremist" views on abortion, favoring wealthy developers and wasting money on lobbyists.

Senger and McGuire are vying for the seat held by retiring state Rep. Joe Dunn, R-Naperville.

This is not the first time McGuire has splashed around in political mud puddles, according to three candidates who ran in last year's Naperville School District 203 school board election.

Mike Davitt, Jerry Buch and Dan Denys -- a fiscally conservative trio known as the Taxpayer's Ticket -- were targeted by an organization called People United for Responsible Education for which McGuire served as treasurer.

PURE was financed entirely by $23,525 from the Naperville Unit Political Action Committee for Education -- a political action committee representing the interests of District 203's labor union -- but didn't file disclosure with the state board of elections until after the election on April 17, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

According to state records, PURE was created to "support endorsed candidates." Those candidates happened to be the same three candidates that were endorsed by NUPACE -- Suzyn Price, Mike Jaensch and Terry Fielden.

The whole deal was "sleazy," according to Davitt, who says he wouldn't have had a problem with PURE if it had not hidden its union ties.

"Here you've got the teachers' union setting up a shell organization pretending like they're a citizen's group," Davitt said. "(It was) a shady deal ... it didn't pass the smell test."

PURE also circulated a flier that suggested that Davitt and the other Taxpayer's Ticket candidates would allow sex offenders to drive buses by their support for outsourcing transportation.

The mailing was produced by Fako & Associates, a firm that also provided PURE with "poll analysis" -- which was purchased by NUPACE for $7,500.

McGuire downplays her role as PURE's treasurer, saying she never attended any strategy sessions and had nothing to do with mailings and polling.

"That was the extent of my involvement," McGuire said. "All I did was file the reports and pay a few bills, that was it. Actually, I just had a minor role to play."

URGENT ALERT – YOUR ACTION REQUIRED

DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE – McGUIRE IS DEFINITELY ANTI-GUN

Thanks to all of you who called the campaign offices of Dianne McGuire to demand an explanation of her anti-gun views, including campaign worker promises to close down Naperville Sportsmen’s Club “. . .once and for all.”

Based on the feedback we got from many of you callers, the McGuire staff was generally rude to you and claimed that they, the McGuire staff, are actually NRA members and that the ISRA-PVF is lying about McGuire’s stance on guns.

The real truth is that McGuire has been running on an anti-gun platform. Here is what we know to be the facts:

1. McGuire campaign literature says she supports a ban on so called “assault weapons.” Well, as most of you know, these bans on “assault weapons” include provisions to ban and confiscate all semiautomatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols. Such legislation also includes licensing and registration of all guns and gun owners. Any person who supports an “assault” weapon ban is, by definition, “anti-gun.” McGuire is anti-gun.

2. McGuire’s campaign literature bashes her opponent, Darlene Senger, for supporting laws that would allow law-abiding citizens to carry defensive firearms to protect themselves and their families from violent criminals. McGuire’s apparent opposition to Concealed Carry definitely paints her as anti-gun.

3. The ISRA-PVF has it on very good authority that McGuire campaign workers have been telling Naperville residents that McGuire will use the Illinois EPA and State Police to shut down the Naperville Sportsmen’s Club. McGuire’s own web site makes note that she is an active member of the Naperville League of Women Voters. Many of you may know that the Naperville League of Women Voters has spearheaded persistent campaigns to shut the sportsmen’s club down. The League has compared trapshooting activities at the sportsmen’s club to gang activities at the Cabrini Green housing project. The connection between McGuire and the League of Women Voters is clear.

4. McGuire has been endorsed by Sarah Brady and Handgun Control Incorporated (http://www.bradycampaign.org/media/release.php?release=1038) Only anti-gunners like Dianne McGuire get endorsed by the Bradys.

So, today, we are asking you to once again take action to preserve and protect your right to keep and bear arms. . .

1. If you have previously called the McGuire campaign office, and have been told that McGuire is not anti-gun and that the ISRA-PVF is lying, then please call the McGuire campaign office once again at (630) 579-6696 and tell the person who answers firmly, yet politely, that you do not appreciate being lied to and that you know the facts and those facts indicate that McGuire is antigun. Suggest to the person that McGuire read the U.S. Supreme Court’s Heller Decision so that she may come to the understanding that the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution guarantees the INDIVIDUAL right to keep and bear arms and that individual right shall not be infringed through banning guns or shutting down shooting facilities.

2. Please distribute this alert to all your firearm owning friends.

3. Please post this alert to any and all Internet blogs or message boards to which you may belong.

4. If you know people who live in the 96th House District, encourage them to vote for Darlene Senger – a true friend to the hunter and sportsman .

5. Visit the ISRA-PVF web site, www.isra-pvf.com, to keep up to date with election developments in the state.
