AlphaKoncepts aka CGS Posted July 9, 2020 at 07:49 PM Author Share Posted July 9, 2020 at 07:49 PM I’m interested in taking this course but was curious if anybody else here has experience with this course and/or vendor. Thanks. Hey Squints, these are both valid questions. I'm sure you are familiar with the United States Concealed Carry Association . If not, they are one of the largest self defense "insurance" carriers in the nation. You can learn more about then at https://www.alphakoncepts.com/uscca However the USCCA is also the fastest growing firearm training organization in the nation as well. The Defensive Shooting Fundamentals (DSF) Program is based off of the Combat Focus Shooting program from I.C.E. Training and globally renowned firearm instructor, Rob Pincus. The DSF program is similar to many other defensive handgun programs but there are some differences. Those differences being focusing on what is instinctive and intuitive, or in other words what the body does naturally in a high stress situation. My name is Thomas Kral. I am the chief firearm instructor for Alpha Koncepts Firearm Training and have been training since since 2013. I also founded GunRights4Illinois in 2014. I have been a member of Illinois Carry since 2012. I have numerous instructor credentials, which I shall include at the end of this posting. I became DSF certified in 2019. However I have been hosting my own Defensive Pistol class for the last several years, and indeed numerous forum members did take that class. These two classes are similar, but I'll admit DSF has more science behind it. More "Why" we do what we do. Also unlike my Defensive Pistol class, DSF1 doesn't get into some of the one handed drills or unorthodox positions. Those techniques come in DSF2. Here is a link to an advert for one of my Defensive Pistol classes in June 19. And another advert in February 2019 and another from January 18 on this forum. I encourage you to check out my reviews, http://www.alphakoncepts.com/reviews/ or the reviews on my facebook page (Please note the only negative reviews I have received were from non-customers) https://www.facebook.com/pg/alphakoncepts/reviews/ also note you will see Defensive Pistol reviews on the facebook page. You may also check out my reviews on my USCCA bio, however these reviews are for concealed carry classes only, at this time. Euler Posted July 9, 2020 at 08:30 PM Share Posted July 9, 2020 at 08:30 PM I’m interested in taking this course but was curious if anybody else here has experience with this course and/or vendor. Thanks. USCCA and AlphaKoncepts may be the vendors for administrative purposes, but it's Rob Pincus' class. I have no experience with Pincus. Squints08 Posted July 21, 2020 at 10:07 PM Share Posted July 21, 2020 at 10:07 PM Had a great time and definitely learned a lot. Worth looking into if you’re interested in getting lots of reps drawing and shooting from a holster while learning/shooting some new drills. My friend and I are looking forward to level 2 when it becomes available from Alpha Koncepts.
