Is Trump in trouble?

The Trump haters seem to be having a feeding frenzy with all the Mannifort, Comey, pay-offs to Playboy models, porn star, yadda yadda stuff. If you go to CNN or something like that it sounds like they're fixin' to run Trump out of town on a rail.

If you listen to Levin on Fox he says it's mostly harrasment.

I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just trying to get a clear picture of what's going on. Personally, I think Trump is tackling some tough issues. He is what he is. We didn't elect a choir boy. We elected a man to get the job done.

He's stood a lot of heat and come out just fine in the past. Is this just more of the same? I personally hope so.

I'm just looking for a sane interpretation of what is transpiring in the news.

What do you think?

Sane interpretation of politics ? Good luck.

From most of what I have heard hes done nothing that's technically impeachable yet. Unless he lies under oath about it when hes finally put on the stand (which most are assuming he will be eventually) he should be fine in that respect. Other than that its just a witch hunt like its always been.

IMO the only thing this whole investigation nonsense will have accomplished at the end is further dividing this nation to a point that its not ever gonna be repaired.

It amazes me all these people on the left hoping Trump goes down and then thinking that FINALLY everything will be back to normal with a Democrat as president.

I think the left fails to realize that the political and social culture they have made is now the new normal. I don't ever see this being a "united" states again. I don't even think people are trying to fake it anymore.

I just listened to about 10 minutes of NPR while in the bathroom. Yes. They - admittedly, over and over again - are still trying to figure out what or if Trump has done anything wrong. It's obviously an investigation looking for a problem.

Waste of time and money.

It won't break my heart if the mods close this thread. I was just wondering......

If they can claim this is an abuse of campaign finances, then he would be in trouble. However, the facts seem to indicate that it is not. The money did not come from his campaign, it came from him. Also, while one reason may have been to affect the election, there are many other reasons for him to make the payments, things like protecting his relationship with his wife, paying off a blackmailer, general embarrassment, etc. Those additional reasons make these payments fail to meet the campaign finance issue.

While embarrassing for him, he is not in trouble over them.

Trump ain’t going anywhere. The media along with all the censorship from the big tech companies are simply kicking it into high gear propaganda before the mid-terms to try and sway the voters.

It’s pretty disgusting. I just don’t believe how the have not realized that they are just making trumps base grow and grow stronger.

I am a huge trump fan since he came down the escalator, but I meet tons and tons of people in daily dealings at work. the vast majority of them are the type that don’t like his tweets and comments but they will vote for him just because of the wackiness from the left/liberal machine.

Let's see, Remember when Kushner meetings, Trump jr. meetings, multiple women claiming harassment, not paying taxes, various "shady" business dealings, and of course Russia collusion were going to get Trump impeached ? This is just the latest ****show from the biased media and all the LWW are getting excited all over again. This is just the latest "We got him this time !!!!!" clown show. next month this will be forgotten and it will all start over again with a fresh pile of nothing.

This seems to be the key factor. Lying to feds is the offense that led to the prosecution of Bill Clinton, Scooter Libby, Martha Stewart and Dennis Hastert.

They’re all dirty, “left” and “right”. The saying is everyone commits 3 felonies a day, how many felonies do the super rich and political class commit daily? I would still vote for Trump over Hillary even though I find him morally reprehensible, she was worse in my opinion.

All that being said, let’s look at the facts, the R’s ain’t going to impeach, so the D’s have to take the house, which the odds, for what they’re worth (remember November, 2016), are in the D’s favor. So if the D’s vote for impeachment, which takes a super majority (good luck), the senate still has to vote as well, but the odd are in favor of the R’s keeping control of the senate, so the chances are Trump would be acquitted by the senate. IF(really, really big if) he were impeached then, wait for it, we have President Pence (just saying that you can hear lefties’ heads exploding all across the land). Also, neither Palosi nor Schumer want impeachment.

No Trump is not in trouble, he is is a fight of his life. He needs to keep fighting too. Nothing they have "found" yet points towards anything illegal on his part. The fact they have to make special plea deals and give out immunity like candy shows they can't prove anything on their own. Personally, I do not listen to anyone who cuts a deal for a lessor penalty for their crimes to rat on someone else. They will say anything they think it wanted to save their skin. Not trustworthy at all.

Session was the biggest mistake Trump made. He should have jerked his name when he recused himself from the Russia witch hunt. He will be replaced sooner or later.

Amen. Trump needs to pick a "Crusader" for the AG spot. Someone who is tasked with going after the swamp creatures - Left or Right - and do it with gusto! <salivating at the thought of Trey Gowdy>

I believe this is the case when it all boils down.

At the end of the day, I do wonder if the left realizes the can of worms they have opened. If the new norm is to be to launch investigations in search of a crime, attack and investigate everyone connected with a lawfully elected president, we are bound to find ourselves facing a constitutional crisis sooner than later over repeated political coups that likely divide this nation to the brink of civil war.

If the Democrats were somehow able to secure both the Senate and House and ram through an impeachment, you can bet all heck will break loose come the 2020 elections, something the Democratic rank and order is fully aware of.

"I know for a fact that President ________ is crooked and I demand a special prosecutor begin investigating immediately!"

"What will they be investigating in particular?"
"Anything that shows he is unfit to lead this country!"

"How long do you need!"

"As long as it takes!...ok, I know that sounds a little extreme. How about 2 years?"

2 years later we have an unrelated indictment for tax fraud before the election, and depositions involving a madam and friend of a friend of the President.

Yes, the non interested American public can step back and look at this from a distance and clearly see the absurdity.

Trump and the media have been bare knuckling since the early primaries. It isn't going to stop, not for the next 6 years.

As long as I can remember, Presidential elections are referred to as voting for "the lesser of two evils". I don't believe that is the case anymore. I believe the general average joe lunchbox and mary handbag really have lost interest in scandal news; I believe people are beginning, independents especially, to vote for one party because they are just plain sick of the other. Trump is a nut, his circle is full of loons and they are sick of it. Or the liberals have turned into wackjobs and anarchists and they are sick of them.

Really don't think they want to impeach him. They want to smear him. They want to tie his ugly deeds around the necks of every R running for office. They're just going to keep repeating scandal this and scandal that for the next two years in hope that it makes it shameful to vote for him.

Personally, I've tuned out. The left lies while the right spins. It's depressing as heck. Especially in Illinois. We're about to get a kick in the nuts from JB. Why can't we go back to the days when we could respect one another and agree to disagree.

Sessions is following his oath to the constitution. I don't personally like the guy, but I have respect for him for having principal and morals. Something Trump clearly lacks. Loyalty is a one way street with this guy. Anyone who stands by him, had better expect him to turn on them when it suits him. He has done it dozens of times.

He will do it to Mannifort before this upcoming trial for the Russian / Ukraine offenses.

Trump is using the constitution as toilet paper, and has failed to uphold his duty to the people of this country.

Oh, and Trump has been implicated in a felony as of this week. So yes, there are absolutely signs that point to him doing something illegal.

Why isn't Hillary and the gang in prison yet??

50+ investigation and no evidence to prosecute for one. Talk about political vendettas!

Remember the Republicans spent $70 million on Ken Starr and all they got was Bill lying about a blow job. They spent close to $10 million on Benghazi and got SQUAT. Talk about wasteful spending and witch hunts!

Right now, statistically, illegal aliens are committing crimes at a lower percentage rate than former Trump Campaign officials! Lets build a wall around Trump!
