  1. meh, every suburban county and champaign county are far worse than sangamon. The sangamon county sheriff said he would not enforce PICA, Champaign said they would - if I remember correctly. Champaign has been infiltrated by U of I leftists.
  2. There are dumb people in every profession, including doctors and lawyers, however, maybe a better description would be excessively cautious. Things are bad enough without people being silly and making things worse than they need to be (see threads on Cabelas and Bass Pro).
  3. Ten more days of no further damage to our rights, but you can bet they will throw SOMETHING at the wall this session.
  4. Meh, doubtful. We don't talk about them because we can't hunt with them, well, can't hunt deer anyway but you can take other game with them. Deer hunting is king, with many school districts closing school for first season. Many of us don't go to the range because people "know someone" where they can shoot on their property with a little more distance - I just step out my back door. We have lots of them, even my skinny little nerd of a girlfriend has one. The big city and university types are the very people that despise us and our guns.
  5. I see what you mean, a pro gun governor can be a stopgap measure against the GA, but in the end Rauner was the one that got us the ridiculous 72 hour wait for everything, and I'm not convinced he would veto an AWB - his wife is a north shore liberal after all. How would the cocktail party circuit go for him if he vetoed an AWB? That being said, ordinary lil ole me from rural sangamon county met him not once but twice, drinking beer in two different beer tents. Jelly Belly would never be caught dead in such a place.
  6. Validating the FOID online isn't the law as I understand it, just presenting it when a purchase is made.
  7. Unfortunately (or not), the compliant ones that registered will hand them right over.
  8. If they can pick and choose what to enforce, I guess we can pick and choose which to follow.
  9. Visit Scheels in Springfield (or Iowa City or Appleton, WI). Just as big a selection as those other two, and very 2A friendly.
  10. Depends on where you live maybe? Most gunowners I know have an AR or similar, including many women. Those women include a 20-someting recent college grad and my skinny IT nerd girlfriend - you wouldn't expect either of them owned any kind of gun. Using your 90% figure, thats saying that only 200k FOID holders own one, I think that's really low.
  11. They are not - they are only exempt for the special people like cops.
  12. Even if you bought it yesterday, all they know is that it was a handgun, rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, etc. If they want to know more, they have to physically get their hands on the 4473's.
  13. All so that they can scam the taxpayer for per diem
  14. that's required for .22 air rifles, for .177, it is not. Ridiculous of course, but this is Illinois.
