BELLEVUE, WA --(Ammoland.com)- Nearly 200 anonymous (for now) state Democrat lawmakers have formed a gun control group in order to attack gun rights in our states. They are calling themselves American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention (ASLGVP).

Their reason for forming the anti-gun coalition is because of the lack of success by Congress to deteriorate our gun rights at the federal level. Now they are taking matters into their own hands by attacking gun rights in each of our states.

Their founder, Brian Kavanagh (D-NY), has proposed anti-gun legislation such as limiting gun owners to one purchase every 30 days, mandatory 10-day waiting periods before being able to accept a firearm, banning .50-cal rifles and ammo, and many more. This is what we have to look forward to from this group.

How many murders have been committed by .50 BMG rifles? My god these politicians are morons...

In the history of the U.S., there was one .50BMG rifle ever shot during a "crime" ever. (It was one of the firearms defending during the siege in Waco).

I have a 50BMG, and love to take it to the range. But I can't imagine a criminal ever trying to use this. It's all about perception, and finding ways to "chip away" on gun rights. They will always push in the path of least resistance, with the goal always to eventually ban all private ownership of firearms.

In North America, and Canada?

ZERO

Not One.

Ever.

It is always fun to bring up that point....a midst others, in a spirited exchange with Dan Kotowski...after calling attention to the 2.7 million dollars he burned in pushing for the ban. After a moment, ask if there has EVER been a crime of violence committed in North America with a 50 cal rifle...

(There have been poaching crimes recorded with a 50 cal. Turned out to be muzzleloaders though.)

Waco, huh? I stand corrected. Although its use is not reflected in FBI data.

Some 50BMG Rifles were found in the arsenal of the defenders of the Branch Davidian compound. The FBI claims they were fired on with the 50BMG, but I think the issue is still somewhat in doubt. However, it's the only even claimed active criminal use of one. But the anti's latch onto it because they can convince enough of the Fudd's that "no-one ever needs a firearm like this". Never mind that no-one needs a luxury car, or no one needs a large house. They can make do with driving an econobox and living in a small home. So they might as well ban those things while they're at it...

If they believe in their issue, why are they hiding?

yeah! 90% of americans support their ideas  no need to hide!
I'll believe 200 members when I see a list of 200 members' names.Until then, I call it wishful thinking.

The 200 number is from the same guy who was counting during the Mllion Mom March.

1. we figure out who they are.

2. we watch them like a hawk on who's money they spend doing it.

3. when they step over the line, be ready to hang them high...

Or this could be another attempt at another greener (as in more bs) version of anti-gun (mom's) astroturf.

common citizens don't strike fear, so make it legislators....

Or an imitation of the Calguns online spoofing of the LCAV meeting (now Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence (LCPGV))

remember:?

Thursday, July 15, 2010 Spoofing the Anti's

Oh, those crazy kids at CalGuns.net. They planned a pro-gun demonstration at the annual fund-raising dinner for the Legal Community Against Violence in San Francisco. Only they didn't show. It was a spoof from the beginning as they knew LCAV monitored their message board. They wanted to get LCAV all hot and bothered and worried. It worked.

The ASLGVP web site is nothing but a home page with link to the press release they issue earlier this month.

It looks like they might have used this $99 service to issue the press release as they're not even hosting a copy on their own site.

The contact info in the press release is an email address at BerlinRosen Public Affairs.

A descritpion of BerlinRosen by Activist Facts says:

When left-wing activist groups, New York Democratic Party politicians, and national labor unions have a need for public relations representatives, they often go to one group: Berlin Rosen (sometimes styled BerlinRosen). Founded by Democratic operatives Jonathan Rosen and Valerie Berlin, the firm claims as clients some of the most radical hitters in the Democratic Party and the professional Left: New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, the Chicago Teachers Union, Food and Water Watch, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) have all retained the firm.

The left-wing political consultancy specializes in the creation of front group campaigns, especially on behalf of labor unions like SEIU. The firm rose to national prominence as the chief organizational force behind SEIUs campaign of fast food strikes, demonstrations that relied heavily on Berlin Rosen and other professional Left organizations to make up the numbers as employee participation was by many accounts minimal.

Fronting campaigns with fellow professional agitators and front groups is a typical Berlin Rosen strategy, employed on behalf of unions and left-wing interests not only in the firms home state of New York, but as far afield as California, Illinois and Pennsylvania.

...

Please make sure to click the link and read more about their creation of "front group campaigns".

If you think about it, that's only an average of 4 members per state. I don't think 200 is unrealistic.

No, not unrealistic but not demonstrably accomplished either.

Credibility requires a published list of members' names.

Credibility = accountability.

I wouldn't be at all surprised for them to support secrecy in their efforts to deny the 2A to anyone. It completely fits the tactics of totalitarian governments throughout history.

Gun control's #1 obstacle- Finding the guy that will go door to door and say "Hi. I'm with the state and I'm here to collect your guns." I'm betting that none of these 200 brave anonymous patriots is that guy.

Of course not. They've read Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago:

What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?[

But they'd be happy to be the one issuing the orders, just like the red flag waving college kids who think they'll be leaders of the great uprising, but forget what happened in Hungary, Russia's Yezhovshchina, China's "land reform" and "Cultural Revolution", Cambodia's Killing Fields and still happens in North Korea.

After all, Communists are just happy motorcycle riding poets, heroic Nazi killers and social activist journalists who fall in love, right?

You know, what strikes me about this is that they're staying secret to protect themselves politically. They don't want people to know so they won't have to deal with the criticism and be potentially voted out of office. If they're afraid of massive criticism and being voted out, maybe "most Americans" don't actually support their ideas?
