I am an avid gun rights advocate being involved in the movement in Illinois since 2012 and became one of the very first Concealed Carry instructors to be certified by the Illinois State Police in 2013.

  1. I carry an EPS w/ 6 MOA. I prefer enclosed optics. 6 MOA is not huge and is standard for defensive optics, which the EPS is designed for. You want fast target acquisition at closer distances for defensive shooting.
  2. Apply 180 days before expiration to 60 days in my opinion. However, so long as you apply for renewal before you expire, you're technically not expired. This state is jacked up so just jump on it ASAP. You need a 3-hour class. I have weekday and weekend CCL renewal classes in Park Ridge: https://www.alphakoncepts.com/concealed-carry-license-renewal-class/
  3. that's the docket for the appeals court. As it was remanded, I am looking for the info on the district level.
  4. Dec 11 Enbanc hearing denied for TRO. Perhaps we will have the new schedule next month since the previous dates were held pending the appellate decision.
  5. August 28th... III. Conclusion For the foregoing reasons, Plaintiff’s Motion for an Extension of Time (Doc. 105) is GRANTED, Plaintiff’s Cross-Motion for Summary Judgment (Doc. 95) is DENIED, and Defendants’ Cross-Motion for Summary Judgment (Doc. 101) is GRANTED. The Clerk of the Court is DIRECTED to enter judgment for Defendants and against Plaintiff. SO ORDERED. JUDGMENT IN A CIVIL ACTION DUGAN, District Judge: IT IS ORDERED AND ADJUDGED that pursuant to the Order entered on August 28, 2023 (Doc. 116), Judgment is entered in favor of Defendants Hacker and Yenchko and against Plaintiff Rogers. Pursuant to the Amended Complaint filed November 24, 2020, Defendant Wells was terminated from this action. Accordingly, the case is closed. IT IS SO ORDERED.
  6. While I don't disagree with your assessment, that's not the reason why I expected this outcome. It is INCREDIBLY rare for SCOTUS to get involved until the case is completely litigated. This request for an emergency injunction was a hail-mary pass at best. However, the litigation process isn't over. The case isn't dead.
  7. Take democrats out of the equation for a second. I am quite positive, certain in fact, that the civilian disarmament movement has been around much longer than the democrat party. I am quite certain that for all of history tyrants have preferred their populace to be disarmed. I say that to say this: This war will never end.
  8. Thinking about the "inclined to not enjoin" comment overnight... I'm glad the judge is on record making that statement. It signals to SCOTUS that if they intend to put a hold on this law pending final court decisions, they'll need to do it because at this point it leaves nobody else. So, our rights are once again in the hands of SCOTUS. FWIW I think there is a less than 1% chance SCOTUS blocks this before Jan 1st.
  9. I've often said, the longer it takes the judges to rule, the usually it goes in our favor as they'll delay as long as possible. Regardless, if we look back at any of the landmark cases, they percolate through the courts over a period of several years. Take, for example, the recent Solomon ruling re cook county forest preserves. Solomon was arrested in 2017 iirc and the courts didn't make a final ruling until 2021 and it was allowed to be enforced for another 6 months after the district court decision. NYSRPA v Bruen was originally filed in 2018 and finally settled in 2022.
  10. CCW insurance isn't required by law, but the legal system will bankrupt 99% of the members of this forum. Get self-defense insurance or you'll be taking a plea deal.
