If a person believes that they need range time and they believe their life and their spouse's life has value then please explain to me how any range at any location is too expensive. It's all about priorities.
I believe DD123 response was well written and very thoughtful. It may not have specifically answered the original post but many people reading this thread may find it very useful.

As a generic point of reference and speaking ONLY for myself.... If I owned acres upon acres of land upon which it would be very safe to discharge firearms? I and my immediate family and close friends would have a place to shoot pretty much unfettered. There is exactly ZERO chance I'd accept the immense safety and financial liability for strangers at any price.

Funny, if this guy's wife can out shoot 99% of us here (what a bold as$ statement) where'd she learn to shoot?
Maybe just go back there for practice.
