Posted October 6, 2018 at 02:19 AM Share Posted October 6, 2018 at 02:19 AM 2nd Amendment RallyThursday, Oct. 25The rally begins at theCourthouse, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.then come over to theEdwardsville American LegionIL-157, across from Lincoln Middle School5:00 - 8:00 p.m.Free BBQ Pork Sandwich and ChipsFree beer and sodaFirst come, first serveOpen to the public The county board voted to put this advisory question on the Nov. 6 ballot: ADVISORY QUESTION: SHALL MADISON COUNTY BECOME A SANCTUARY COUNTY FOR LAW ABIDING GUN OWNERS TO PROTECT THEM FROM UNCONSTITUTIONAL GUN LAWS PASSED BY THE ILLINOIS GENERAL ASSEMBLY? Dozens of Illinois counties have passed "second amendment sanctuary" resolutions in response to the City of Chicago and some Chicago suburbs passing overly restrictive gun laws. The Madison County Board did not pass a resolution, but instead put an advisory question on the ballot to let the voters answer the question. Supporters of this 2nd Amendment advisory question support the constitution, the same constitution elected officials in Illinois have sworn to uphold. Sponsors have already stepped up to pay for the BBQ at the American Legion. The event is to show support for the 2nd Amendment and raise money to support the advisory question. All proceeds will go to support the 2nd Amendment advisory question.
