  1. Because such a pitifully small number of gun owners actually bother. Gun owners are a worthless bunch when it comes to defending our rights. It's been the same since the 1960's or before. Such an apathetic bunch that only a very small percentage even.nothetbto belong to one gun rights supporting organization. Or actually contact legislators in opposition of all their communist unconstitutional crap
  2. And who's to say who they will define as a gang or gang member. We could be labeled a gang and gang members.
  3. I asked my FFL if I printed a copy of the page I could bring it to him.I have never seen a messed up system and I was in the military. There should be one card for CCL holders that act as the Foid and CCL and a Foid for people who do not have a CCL. it would save the state time and money and be less of a hassle to the people. Also once you go active you should be active and be able to carry, going active and waiting for a card is not active. I will say this, I will not miss these antics once we move to Alabama. No! There should be NO FOID
  4. It sounds an awful lot like somebody hunting with an expired FOID to me. People should be on top of that but it's easy enough to let things slip sometimes. I think you take that law a little to lightly.
  5. That law went into effect January 2011. I believe it was passed in July 2010. It was sponsored by Kirk Dillard. A very unfortunate decision for somebody that has been so helpful in the fight for gun rights. I heard that the bill was presented to him as a piece of do little, feel good, look tough on crime legislation. Few people looked at the possible ramifications as to how the bill could be enforced if passed into law. There was a disclaimer in the bill - something to the effect of being someplace you are not supposed to be with a gun and no FOID. Which could be interpretted many ways. I don't know that the law has been abused yet but it is bound to be abused as it is. I heard one story about a guy in Kankakee that had a ggun he inherited from his father that got arrested but no verification or details. I will check and see if I can find more details. They always talk about intent of the law. Intent means nothing in how a law will be enforced. Wording is everything. Evidenced by how a few years ago they were confiscating vehicles when hunters leaned their guns on them. HB5832 If my computer wasn't messed up I had more info that I would have copied and pasted. Does anybody have a usable desktop to sell cheap? If so feel free to email/contact me. I share your frustration with all the new, inane laws that our dear legislators come up with. But, having watched the legislature pretty closely last spring, I must have missed one. Can you tell me the bill number on this "law" that was passed, or give us a little more detail? Thanks, Tim
  6. I know a lot of old hardliners refused to ever get a FOID on a matter of principal. They are kind of a dieing breed though. Everybody should get ever member of their family a FOID as soon as they are old enough. How old is that? I have grandchildren coming up. It seems they are also making new felonies every year. I know at least one northern legislator that stated this as part of his anti-gun agenda years ago. It is now a felony to speed 30 mph over the speed limit and it carries a mandatory 6 monthes in the pokey. 40 mph over is a mandatory year in jail. There are towns where their city speed zones extend a ways out of town and if you are running 75 in a 55 it would be easy to get a 75 in a 35 ticket. There is also the FOID law they passed last year that makes it easy to get a mandatory year in jail for being in the wrong place in posession of a gun with an expired FOID. And this year with the rear seat belt law they made hay rack rides illegal. I won't vote for anybody that voted for these laws. I'm running out of people to vote Throw them all out and get some people in that really look out for us and that will refuse to try to pass legislation that they think will make them look good. Tell your legislators to vote NO on almost everything. Did we really need 200 new laws, 2 years in a row?
