  1. In Texas, it is my understanding that publicly funded places cannot be prohibited for the most part, because they are PUBLIC. I transport in my car M-F during working hours. Any other time I carry unless I know we are going somewhere prohibited. Then it's knife and pepper spray to hold me over. It just blows my mind that many of the prohibited locations in our current carry law are places where one would need to carry most. I guess that's just the anti-side coming through, that their logic is if we prohibit the lawful carriers from being able to properly defend themselves then somehow the criminals will stop committing crimes.
  2. I should add I live in Newark. I did my "wally walk" and went to church tonight. No one was hurt, or even noticed for that matter.
  3. Sweet! Mine arrived today! Going to give it a whirl on some short errands we have to run tonight. Filled out 90% on 12/18/13 Paid on 1/2/14 Approved 2/28/14 Arrived 3/5/14 Just before my birthday, what a present, indeed!
  4. Today my wife and I met with Boyd Ingemunson in Yorkville. They were in the process of moving into their new office. We had a few things to talk to him about, one of which was firearm and self defense situations. He seems to be the guy to go to in the area, and the office has been around a long time. He was very polite and treated us well. We will definitely keep him in our phones and on call for anything in the future. He does work outside firearms, too, so we will call him for other needs. The main point of my post here is that the most prominent names you see here on the board (Todd, Molly, etc) do a lot of work to help us all. I would recommend anyone in the Yorkville area who needs an attorney to see Boyd, and if not him then someone else on the list. Thank you, Todd, Molly and everyone else who works hard for the cause!
  5. Of these FOIDs, the criminals who are doing the shooting are included, right?
  6. Only if you plan on complying with the harassment of petty bureaucrats and their impotent little city councils. We've fine tradition of civil disobedience in this country, if the antis keep pushing their luck they're liable to find out what it looks like when you turn a community of people built on individualism and small arms into reflexive scofflaws. The gun culture is surprisingly law abiding, I'm almost eager to see what we look like when we've got enough precedent under our belts to get defiant. Nearly all of the lawful gun owners I have ever known, have been amongst the most honest and great to work with people. I too would be intrigued by the looks of defiance today. If the politicians/antis don't read up on their history, they may get re-educated on what happened in 1775.
  7. You don't say,.. that's reason to abolish it. If they get the suit going, I WILL support it any way I can.
  8. I'm coming in fairly late at this thread and the ruling (Finally at a computer today after hearing this on the radio earlier). However I think this is a fantastic step, and will watch this as close as I can. I know it is the beginning of potentially a huge firestorm, but it is a huge win too.
