I’m not voting for Trump because of his 2A rhetoric, policies, or actions.
I am voting for Trump because he pisses off the Democrats !!

Sounds like a pretty poor reason to give up your 2nd amendment rights. But your vote is your right. If trolling the dems is more important than your guns, have at it.

The option was Clinton or Trump. The presidency goes way beyond just gun rights. Still waiting for your better option....

^^^ and Trump will be your President for another 5-6 years !!!

If so, the 2nd amendment will continue to suffer. That's something you're excited about?
I am game. Which declared democrat candidate should I vote for who would support the 2nd amendment?

I don't think that's the point of this.

In my opinion, this is an effort to neutralize Trump on the Second Amendment. They're not offering a better 2A candidate, at least not yet. They're saying every candidate is bad so ignore the 2A and look at other issues. It hopes to remove the conflict for D voters who support gun rights, while also peeling away some of Trump's R supporters.

So we need Trump's judicial appointees to protect us from Trump's actions, and that's the solution for protecting the 2nd amendment?

Got it. Sounds like a solid plan.

At worse if you are correct DT is an 8 year threat to 2A rights. A liberal SCOTUS can be a 40+ year threat to our 2A rights. Stop hating Trump long enough to see the long-term consequences of a dem president.

I have read this thread completely and  here is what I have gotten from it. Don't vote for Pres. Trump because....

#1) Pres. Trump banned bump stocks. Yes , this was going to happen whether he chimed in on it or not.

#2) Pres. Trump is taking away our modern sporting rifles .... er wait a minute he has said some bad things concerning the MSR's but nothing has happened yet and he isn't pushing for their ban every day.

#3) Pres. Trump is taking away our right to own sound suppressors ... again he has said some bad things about them but he isn't on a rant and pushing every day for making them illegal.

and now for .....

#4) Every Democratic candidate running for the Presidental nomination have said they want to completely ban all MSR's.  Some have said they would do it through a buy back.  So by doing this not only would they be confiscating your MSR , but they would be making you pay for it.  ( The Gov't has no money , only what they take from the citizens through taxation)

Yep , I'll be voting for Trump again.

And this is where the problem lies. Too many people are unwilling to call him out on his anti-gun stuff. Too many apologists that think its a chess move or something. You can still support the guy in other areas, but in terms of 2A, he stinks (BUT is still better than any current Dem running in terms of guns)

He's not better in terms of guns. Not by a long shot. Obama didn't ban anything. Trump did. No Dem candidate is talking about taking away guns without due process, Trump is. No Dem candidate that I've seen is talking about banning assault rifles and not giving compensation for them, Trump is. It's an embarrassment. Trump was supposed to get us our rights back, but that didn't happen. And we should have demanded it. We haven't. That's why we're getitng our rights taken away, because we're ok with it apparently, as long as it's done by someone with an ® in front of their name. This is how we got the 1968 GCA (with NRA support). This is how Reagan passed the FOPA in 1986. Those are two of the worst anti-2nd amendment laws in the last 80 years. With Republican help. THIS is when we need to be outraged. This is when we need to stand up for our rights, because otherwise, they're just going to be given away.

Trump is worse by all metrics on guns than most of the Dem candidates, and the bigger problem is that people accept it and say they'll vote for him as is anyways. Unless he's going to do a serious 180 before the end of the primaries, he's going to give our rights away. He's going to trend even MORE anti, where a Dem candidate would trend less Anti.

Most of the Dems aren't saying that for at least two reasons.

1 - They know that saying anything about "gun control" is likely a recipe for disaster; and

2 - They are flat out lying to us.

If a dem was in the white house the SCOTUS would be pushed so far to the left that this forum would be shut down for violating hate speech laws and gun rights organizations would be banned as terrorists organizations. The picture is much bigger than bump stocks.

Obama didn't ban anything due to a Republican congress blocking him (and his general ineptness):

I'm not sure anyone will have to worry about the dem candidates, the dnc are too busy forcing them in to apologizing for anything and everything and wringing their hands to budge any swing voter or any fence sitter to get behind them.

An anti that pretends to be pro 2nd amendment is more dangerous and has done and will continue to do damage.

Read this synopsis and if the conclusions are correct it could be very applicable here, as well as in many other EOs and agency 'rules'

When you keep voting for the guys who only pay lip service to you and support an organisation that does not support gun rights, this is what you get. Third parties will only be viable when people start taking them seriously and actually vote. Buying into the 2-party systems ensure that there will only be a 2-party system. The NRA is not going to help you either!

If the justice department filed in opposition to this lawsuit they would be forced to admit that the bump stock ban is illegal.

2 things I haven't seen pointed out that would help our Trump-bashing friends: 1) Executive Orders apply top government business. They are not laws. 2) During the first 2 years of Trump's presidency the Republicans had control of both the House and Senate. Congress did very little to restore the 2nd Amendment. That's not Trump's fault, so stop blaming him. It's Congress's fault they failed to act and place 2A legislation on Trump's desk. This does not make him anti 2A. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

On a side note I would argue that MSR are actually antique sporting rifles as the concept of a semi-auto magazine fed rifle is approaching on 80 year old technology at least.

If you are just looking at magazine-fed semiauto rifles the technology is pushing 140 years old

I think someone should market one and call it the "Trump-Stock." I bet if that had been done, long before this idiocy was foisted upon us, and the company had the savvy to get Donny's endorsement, that directive would have been aborted in the larval stage.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary for the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Who gets to keep and read books? The Media? Or is it the People?
