bmyers Posted February 28, 2019 at 02:46 PM Share Posted February 28, 2019 at 02:46 PM I didn't see this posted, but very well could of missed it. Here is an article discussing the proposed legislation. https://www.riverbender.com/articles/details/a-second-amendment-sanctuary-looking-at-madison-countys-firearms-laws-with-the-states-attorney-33930.cfm I find this quote from the article very exciting: “If the law does pass, you will find me at the federal courthouse filing suits,” he said. “I don't know if it will be as a private citizen, the state's attorney, or both, but I will be down there. It's grossly unconstitutional and federal courts will most likely see that from across the state if it passes.” I also appreciate how much he supports conceal carry rights: "When teaching students of concealed carry classes, Gibbons volunteers his time. He said he feels it is within his duties as the Madison County State's Attorney to instruct people on the law and how it affects their safety and daily lives." C0untZer0 Posted March 3, 2019 at 04:52 PM Share Posted March 3, 2019 at 04:52 PM The United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ruled the Illinois UUW law, which prohibited carrying a loaded firearm outside the confines of ones own property, to be unconstitutional. Just FYI.
