  1. It was an ideal, a suggestion. They never intended to cut it off on 1/1/24. As it turns out, there are plenty of reasons many folks did not comply, including because they didn’t want to! There is still the possibility PICA will be struck down. If it is not, who knows what will happen. Cheers, Tim
  2. Or, much more likely, they not are being sucked in by the state to a bad situation... and their status with the state will be identical to those who registered before the deadline. Cheers, Tim
  3. It’s 10 post or 10 comments is what I learned I believe you need 15 posts. If all you wanna do is buy or sell, you should probably check out GunBroker instead. While waiting for access, spend some time looking around and see if you like it here. Checkout the sections where dedicated longtime members are providing real time notes during hearings held by by our legislature, to keep us all informed... like when action needs to be taken by filing a Witness Slip in opposition to proposed new anti-gun measures. And look for posts from Molly. From the beginning she has provided great assistance to so very many members. I also like to read whatever Todd Vandermyde has to say. Todd, and Molly, were speakers before the committee at the most recent hearing on HB-5855. I cannot begin to name all of our MVPs. Consider becoming a supporting member for $25 a year. Your rights as a gun owner deserve your contribution. Welcome to the forum! Cheers, Tim
  4. If your information is already out there, forever, why give up your CCL? Cheers, Tim
  5. So... what did everyone do while it was down? I brewed 13 gallons of beer! Cheers, Tim
  6. Michigan requires a permit be obtained within 30 days of taking possession of inherited guns, and requires a permit to purchase when purchasing a gun. This may be just for handguns. New Jersey has an FID and requires a permit to purchase. Somehow this is not required for an inheritance as long as the new owner is allowed to have a gun and the gun is legal in NJ. Hold the line and make it better. Be happy you do not reside in NJ or CA, and maybe even MI, NY and HA for sure. Cheers, Tim
  7. As mentioned in the other thread... this bill is over a year old with no traction. Cheers, Tim
  8. Whether or not a warning shot is legal, I paste below what I think to be the most important thought in the article... Avoiding conflict, if at all possible, still seems good. Perhaps a warning shot could be a useful tool in some circumstances, where it is allowed - if you are not later being second guessed in your choice of not using a warning shot. Cheers, Tim
  9. I wish you the best of luck in resolving your difficulties. You probably should contact a good attorney who knows what to do. Spelling and punctuation fixed, just because it needed to be. Cheers, Tim
  10. I believe the FOID automatically renews when you renew your CCL. Cheers, Tim
  11. Just to be clear, they don't add 10 years every time you buy a gun. They extend the expiration to a max of 10 years from the date you pass the NICS when buying through an FFL. It's a small bonus. It would be better to not need to go through it at all. Cheers, Tim
  12. Not really a bonus but if you submitted fingerprints with your CCL application, they top your FOID up to 10 years every time you buy a gun through an FFL. Cheers, Tim
