RandyP Posted January 3, 2019 at 05:32 PM Share Posted January 3, 2019 at 05:32 PM I equate 'full size' polymer pistol with increased magazine capacity. For non-LEO self defense use there are plenty of smaller, easier to conceal and carry handguns with equal or greater round count. My Taurus PT111 G2 (12+1) comes to mind. That said, what I think about what YOU would like to own is worth less than what it costs you to read my opinion - LOL - You only gotta keep you happy, the heck with everyone else. TRJ Posted January 3, 2019 at 07:11 PM Share Posted January 3, 2019 at 07:11 PM The G48 looks like it might be better thought of as a full size gun for people with small hands.

I do like it, although I use my S&W 380 Shield for every day carry. Much lighter.

HeavyDuty Posted January 4, 2019 at 02:36 PM Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 02:36 PM I’m cautiously optimistic about the 48. I prefer a thinner gun, and 10+1 is plenty for me - plus I suspect we will see factory +2 mags before too long.
DD123 Posted January 4, 2019 at 02:56 PM Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 02:56 PM The new Glock releases are interesting, but I'm still not a fan of the Glock grip angle. My strong hand also rides so high on the grip that I get slide bite without the beavertail backstrap. Already owning a 23 and a 29, I don't think I'll be buying another Glock. RandyP Posted January 4, 2019 at 03:04 PM Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 03:04 PM I'm thinking to be 'fair' I should wander over to my fav LGS and at least handle a few Glocks. It is a brand I don't have in the safe mostly due to past ergonomic issues. Haven't tried on any of the newer models though.
Kaeghl Posted January 4, 2019 at 08:55 PM Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 08:55 PM The grip still looks sort of like a broken edged brick on its side, so it would still be painfull for me to hold and shoot. (Broken bone splinter 'floating' around in the palm...old football injury). A pity, I do like the reputation for dependability Glock has, but it hurts to much to use. luckydawg13 Posted January 4, 2019 at 09:46 PM Author Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 09:46 PM I'm thinking it's just about the right size a little thinner and a little shorter then a 1911 a lot lighter too If i can find one in a few weeks will Definitely have a look

45 whit Posted January 4, 2019 at 10:51 PM Share Posted January 4, 2019 at 10:51 PM I picked up my Sig p365 today, all these new guns are trying to compete with it, I already picked up 2 after market 12 round mags and I do love the trigger and night sights it has so I'll be sticking with it. DD123 Posted January 5, 2019 at 12:19 AM Share Posted January 5, 2019 at 12:19 AM The new Glock releases are interesting, but I'm still not a fan of the Glock grip angle. Already owning a 23 and a 29, I don't think I'll be buying another Glock.I hated the ergonomics on the Glocks until I tried the G34 Gen 5. It fits my hand really well and I shoot it well. The problem isn't the ergonomics of the grip so much as it's the angle of the grip. Isn't all that changed with the grip their removal of the finger grooves? I know for some folks the finger grooves weren't in the right location due to their hand size, but they've always been a non issue for me personally. When I come out of a holster, as soon as the gun reaches eye level, the sights are aligned and on target. If I haven't shot a Glock in a while, when I do the same thing, the gun isn't pointed anywhere near alignment. This is due to 6-8K rounds per year, for 4 years, and 3X as many draws from dry fire with guns that have the 1911 grip angle (almost every gun except Glocks). The slide bite I get is from my hand riding up really high on the grip to control recoil, but that's not as much a problem as the angle of the grip. I've put too many reps into guns with the 1911 grip angle to want to form the muscle memory for Glocks. I don't hate my Glocks otherwise I'd have sold them. I just prefer other guns to them. MagSlap Posted January 5, 2019 at 01:24 AM Share Posted January 5, 2019 at 01:24 AM As far as glocks go?19...26...17...In that order...is all ya need...(There may better options for 10/sub10 round firearms...Yet the 26 still reigns with its ability to eat larger mags up to 33 rounders...) I won’t vouch for reliability, but they exist.
