  1. I've heard that argument. I'm in Tennessee now and an in-law who lives in Chicago said more or less the same thing. She said you can't compare Chicago to Nashville. Ok, how about Memphis? That place is soaked in crime. The similarity is that they do not mirror the rest of the state, yet in Illinois, the state pays for the sins of one. "Yeah, but Chicago is surrounded by pro gun states and that is a big problem for the city." Well, Tennessee is collared by Georgia, Alabama, Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi. They all seem to share something.
  2. As of April 2022, the website said Judge Porter “sits in the Traffic Division in the Richard J. Daley Center in downtown Chicago, where she presides over minor traffic violations and Class A Misdemeanor matters.” Seems about right.
  3. I believe it was Tom Foley that said "It is the seriousness of the charge" many years ago. Finding the crime to put on the man is nothing new.
  4. From the OP's article- "Wednesday, Cook County Circuit Court Judge Tracie Porter pointed to the Colorado Supreme Court’s action to remove Trump from that state’s ballot based on the 14th Amendment’s insurrectionist clause, saying it’s “persuasive law” and the court may consider it as precedent. “Until the U.S. Supreme Court renders a decision in the Anderson v. Griswold case, now pending before it, reviewing courts are still under a constitutional obligation to apply and interpret the law, and especially, continue the momentum of the electoral process in light of the March general primary elections,” Porter said."
  5. The only other place that might hire someone in the condition of Feinstein or Biden would be Walmart up at the doors. So it is either checking receipts and repeating "Welcome to Walmart" over and over again, or running the country and making sure your relatives have a steady income off your name.
  6. He has promised to nominate a black woman. No other qualifications are needed.
  7. The 2nd Amendment is absolute because it was intended to be. "Shall not be infringed" means just what it says. The government has put restrictions on the right, and they stand because we the people have allowed them to. If they "seemed" reasonable they have been allowed. That is how we arrived at this place. By its nature, Government will always try to increase it's authority, and will continue to do so as long as it is allowed.
  8. "I don’t need a lecture on constitutionality from Sheriff Allen" Oh yes, Governor Grisham, I think you do.
  9. The first arrest for Charlie Q Public walking down the street, legally armed and unaware of any "emergency order" should be quickly followed by a lawsuit. And when an elected politician does something so blatantly against a citizens rights, even proclaiming their sworn duty isn't absolute, they should be held personally responsible.
  10. This emergency powers things is a sweet deal isn't it? When you can't convince the citizens you know what is best for them, when the legislative process isn't giving you your way, just do a work around. Sort of like when they started going to court to have judges take the place of congress. Two drive by shootings and the Governor says Joe and Sally Public cannot carry their firearms anymore. So the city DA and the County Sheriff don't agree with the Governor, but they haven't said they will refuse the order, cause orders is orders, I guess. Technically I believe the State Police would be enforcing this one.
  11. Is it really a lie when the statement is mostly incoherent?
  12. Anyone, friends or family, that you know of in such a condition, might possibly be able to work at a greeter in your local hospital or nursing home. This woman is in the short line for the Presidency. Sorry to offend, but people of this age and condition have no business holding responsibility for decisions affecting the lives of Americans on a state or national level. Yes, I know the list of recently elected, and diminished individuals. Yes, we elected them fairly and lawfully, in most cases.
  13. Conservatives delude themselves about the "rules". Pretending that there are rules and the obligation to follow them is just denying the chaos and anarchy that already exists.
