TomC727 Posted October 27, 2016 at 04:16 AM Share Posted October 27, 2016 at 04:16 AM I am thinking about going to his MAG-40 course in June. Does anyone have any experience in taking the course or know anyone who has. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

3ddiver Posted October 27, 2016 at 10:38 AM Share Posted October 27, 2016 at 10:38 AM Don't think about it any more. Take the class. I took it a little over a year ago at the ISRA range and it is a great class. Be ready for long days and lots of notes. If you can type fast while paying attention I recommend a laptop otherwise a notebook and a good pen.

azone5 Posted October 27, 2016 at 10:45 PM Share Posted October 27, 2016 at 10:45 PM I'm not sure what Mag40 is but I took LFI I & II years ago and felt they were outstanding. Every student in our classes was impressed with the teaching.
ChicagoZman Posted October 27, 2016 at 11:54 PM Share Posted October 27, 2016 at 11:54 PM I believe Mag40 is the current version of what Mas used to call LFI -I which I had almost 20 years ago. Very good stuff and worth the money and time IMO.

Chiburbian Posted October 28, 2016 at 02:39 PM Share Posted October 28, 2016 at 02:39 PM I took it a couple years ago at Sand Bur Gun Ranch in Indiana. It was four LONG days drinking from a firehose but it was the singular best and most important class I took. I have learned more gun handling skills since, but the legal portion is essential. Marie Posted November 7, 2016 at 12:04 AM Share Posted November 7, 2016 at 12:04 AM I took the legal classroom portion and the shooting portion separate. Mas is the only one who does the legal classroom. If your handgun skills are decent, then you might just do the legal classroom portion, which is 2 days of 10 hours each. I came away with nearly 40 pages of typed notes (I took my notes on my laptop) from the entire weekend. The shooting portion was taught by someone else. It really improved my shooting. soylentgreen Posted March 17, 2017 at 02:45 PM Share Posted March 17, 2017 at 02:45 PM Ayoob is the man. If I had the opportunity to take a class with him, I'd jump at it.
Bosweep Posted March 17, 2017 at 03:52 PM Share Posted March 17, 2017 at 03:52 PM Took his LFI I & II class many moons ago. I would do any of his classes again if I had time & resources. Good advice using laptop or taking lots of notes.
