mkhalil61 Posted May 15, 2017 at 12:05 PM Share Posted May 15, 2017 at 12:05 PM By the looks of how things have been running you should be coming up pretty soon. The delay is usually because the board is requesting more information from the objecting agency (agency has almost all the time in the world to respond). I think its ridiculous that they give these agencies more than 30 days to respond to them and when they ask us to respond they only give us 30 days . Molly is working on this with legislators. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

jarrod.mccollum Posted August 30, 2017 at 02:00 AM Share Posted August 30, 2017 at 02:00 AM I just received my letter from the board about my objections. This is the second time I applied and the first time I was denied but this time my record was expunged but yet they still found my arrest and for some strange reason CPD sent an objection saying I was a documented gang member thats crazy because Ive never been in a gang and Ive never been arrested with any gang members looks like if i get denied Ill be filing a law suit

Flakojr1987 Posted September 13, 2017 at 11:33 PM Share Posted September 13, 2017 at 11:33 PM On 9/20/17 it will be 22 months being under board review for me, all I have gotten is those 30 day letters, this is ridiculous, in 2 more months It will be 2yrs already, i went under board review 11/20/15 and been on it since, I been waiting patiently but this is ubsurd, I think I should of gotten some sort of respond by now, I just hope my application is not lost somewhere. I'm starting to loose hope, don't know what to do or who to contact to see what s going on or what's the hold up, I'm starting to think I've been the longest under board review in this forum. Unfortunately there are others who have already surpassed the two year mark. However, I believe these cases are being resolved at a faster rate now and we are expecting the board to continue to make headway in eliminating these long delays. IronRam Posted October 4, 2017 at 10:20 PM Share Posted October 4, 2017 at 10:20 PM My under board review status was changed to under review. i also received a letter from the ISP stating that they have over turned the objection and that I am eligible for a concealed carry license. Here is a little background on my timeline and hope it helps other in the same process. Reading all the posts here really helped me understand the steps i needed to take and how long to wait. Thanks to all for the great information. Timeline 1. Completed concealed carry training in January 20172. Applied for CCL in January 20173. went "under review" in March 2017.4. Went "Under board review" in August 20175. Replied to ISP in regards to objection from Chicago Police6. Went back to "under review" status September 20177. Checked inspect element with under review and shows 'approved'8. Received letter from ISP October 2017 stating objection from Chicago was overturned and "applicant is eligible for concealed carry". Hopefully my file gets processed within the next month or so. The entire process for me from start to finish with the "under board review" will take approximately 10-11 months. Hope this helps!

A bunch of us on here have been waiting over a year now. If you do have a clean record (have never been arrested in cook county and even as a kid) than I would send a private message to Molly B because it can be that it is mistaken identity. But if thats not the case you could try filing a federal lawsuit but that will cost more than $2,000. Regardless, the best thing to do is to relax and be patient. Molly B. Posted October 20, 2017 at 06:55 PM Share Posted October 20, 2017 at 06:55 PM This is correct. They review objections throughout the month and then make the final ruling when they meet. Exciting extra news today - the board reviewed 878 objections in September. At this rate, it's possible they could eliminate the backlog by the end of the year.
