davy92 Posted July 5, 2014 at 05:35 AM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 05:35 AM Here is an interesting chart from the Chicago Tribune: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-concealed-carry-rejection-met-0608-gfc-eps-20140704,0,7513442.graphic
Trevis Posted July 5, 2014 at 05:47 AM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 05:47 AM Interesting layout on that. Cook being the biggest source of denials... No surprise. But, the Cook Co. states attorney contributing to the denials is a bit more interesting...

Hap Posted July 5, 2014 at 09:55 AM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 09:55 AM The articles which accompany the chart cover familiar ground but are interesting for their tone - fair and fact-based, in marked contrast to the typical Trib coverage of anything having to do with firearms. There's an excellent interview with Mary Shepard, and the articles on license denials are objective but, if anything, sympathetic. Turning a corner as far as public perception of concealed carry is concerned, perhaps?
TyGuy Posted July 5, 2014 at 02:00 PM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 02:00 PM DeKalb county with fewer than 500 active licenses? Come on! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
lilguy Posted July 5, 2014 at 02:24 PM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 02:24 PM Remember during the debate the media was reporting 400,000 the first year. My brother is a suburban police chief and used that ISP number. I told him if it reaches 250,000 I'll be completly floored. its fast become a nonstory. No blood in the street and no mad dash to get them. This is the way it should be. I'm in Mchenry Co. and got mine in under 60 days. I can tell you that carring my mdl 59 is not convienet or comfortable, and I seldom do. It is nice to have won a major battle likethis, the fight was the most interesting part of the whole deal. Rather anitclimatic though. Now on to full NFA collectabilty in Illinois.
limac333 Posted July 5, 2014 at 09:12 PM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 09:12 PM Interesting that there must be roughly 10,000 applications that were started but not submitted. 79,000 applications were submitted, but I was number 89,xxx when I submitted my app last week. Mr. Fife Posted July 5, 2014 at 09:21 PM Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 09:21 PM When they come to round all 80.000 of us up, there will be 320,000 people happy that they didn't apply.

Iirc, there was a gap of something like 3000-5000 in the application numbers around the time it was opened to the public
Lou Posted July 6, 2014 at 12:04 AM Share Posted July 6, 2014 at 12:04 AM I noticed DuPage, second most populous county, didn't make the list for LE objections. Must be the Toolman Dart.
