THE KING Posted June 30, 2019 at 07:14 PM Share Posted June 30, 2019 at 07:14 PM Does anyone here have the G48 and the G19. If so how do they compare to each other. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has shot both guns and can give me real information from shooting both Glocks. I have researched the spec's on the 48 and the 19 and know those differences. I have a G19 and really like how it shoots. My wife and girlfriend (not what you think) both love shooting the 19 also. I was thinking the 48 might be better for their hand size. If I decide to get the 48, I might have to sell or trade my G27 for it. What do you guys/gals think. KING

bmyers Posted June 30, 2019 at 08:43 PM Share Posted June 30, 2019 at 08:43 PM I have G19 and G48. The only difference is the thickness. Both are easy to shot, the G48 is easier to carry for two reasons. The first is the thickness and the second is less rounds, less weight.

speedbump Posted June 30, 2019 at 11:23 PM Share Posted June 30, 2019 at 11:23 PM Good pistols. The grip is so thin, getting a good purchase feels weird. Very concealable, and yes - very similar in outline dimensions to a G19. It's easily controlled, not much different than a 19, but super concealable *WITH* a good holster. I've been advocating for a 9+1 or 10+1 Glock for years. I hate the silver slide finish and front cocking serrations, but otherwise see no objectionable issues. I may swap out my good lil 43 on one. ;-)
THE KING Posted July 1, 2019 at 12:30 AM Author Share Posted July 1, 2019 at 12:30 AM Now I'm really having a hard time not wanting to either sell or trade my G27 for a G48.
Patriots & Tyrants Posted July 1, 2019 at 01:35 AM Share Posted July 1, 2019 at 01:35 AM Glock 48 may end up being my new EDC if the Shield Arms 15 round magazines end up being any good. Right now I carry a 19 as my EDC and a 43X for "light duty" carry.
RandyP Posted July 1, 2019 at 01:39 AM Share Posted July 1, 2019 at 01:39 AM "I was thinking the 48 might be better for their hand size. " As always THEIR hands will know best. Try to find a shop that rents a 48 so they can experiment side by side with your 19.

SycamoreRuger Posted July 1, 2019 at 06:51 PM Share Posted July 1, 2019 at 06:51 PM Glock 48 may end up being my new EDC if the Shield Arms 15 round magazines end up being any good. Right now I carry a 19 as my EDC and a 43X for "light duty" carry. I think there are a lot of people in the same boat right now. The Shield Arms magazines have a big potential to attract a lot of cc carriers to Glock. The OP’s wife and girlfriend might like the Sig P365 and new P365 XL as much as, or maybe more than, the Glocks. I am a small-handed shooter myself and so far the P365 has rocked my world. I never dreamed I would own a 10+1 or 12+1 9mm that I could grip this well. Now even the original G43 seems oddly oversized.
RandyP Posted July 1, 2019 at 07:37 PM Share Posted July 1, 2019 at 07:37 PM +100 on the P365 - IMHO it is a purt near perfect CC handgun.
Patriots & Tyrants Posted July 2, 2019 at 01:31 PM Share Posted July 2, 2019 at 01:31 PM I also have a P365 as my "deep" carry gun and I love it. I can't wait for them to start selling the XL Frames by themselves; I am told the regular P365 slide will work on the XL Frame. Just not sure about if you can swap the FCU. If you can its gonna be pretty epic. As a side note; I sold my Glock 43 and 26 because the role was better filled by the P365. The 43X I have in anticipation of those 15 round mags. Not really. Since it is the same grip length, I haven't noticed a difference. The only thing I have noticed, I have to adjust my hold just a little because my finger falls on the trigger in a different spot since it is skinnier. If you want a magwell that works with it check out Arsenal Democracy. I have the 2 on a Glock 34 that I'm building.
