Euler Posted May 24, 2018 at 06:41 PM Share Posted May 24, 2018 at 06:41 PM Representative Willis, asks "if you're doing everything right what do you have to fear". It is well-established in political and legal philosophy that this position is equivalent to "guilty until proven innocent," otherwise known as the inquisitional process. "Innocent until proven guilty" is known as the adversarial process.

Euler Posted May 24, 2018 at 07:46 PM Share Posted May 24, 2018 at 07:46 PM link to witness slips for today? Let the Games Begin The final ten days of legislative session will bring a whole host of political theatrics, tricks, pitfalls, and behind the scene maneuvers. The usual anti-Second Amendment crowd on the Democrat side of the aisle has been bolstered by the defection of suburban Republicans Sen. Chris Nybo, Sen. Tom Rooney, Sen. John Curran, Rep. David Olson, Rep. Steve Andersson and others. If they don’t hold the line on further infringements to our rights, we are in danger of losing a lot of ground this session. If you live in a suburban area and you value your Second Amendment rights, contact your legislators NOW and remind them they represent you and you are demanding they protect your rights! They are being bombarded by national anti-gun groups like Moms Demand Action, groups that want to force their New York born anti-gun agenda on our local legislators . We must make our voices heard louder than theirs! We want to thank Gov. Rauner for looking out for gun owners and stripping the ‘assault’ weapons language out of HB1468 with his Amendatory Veto. That AV is waiting for the General Assembly to approve or reject. In the meantime, Rep. Carroll has introduced SB2580 that mirrors the Gov.’s AV and a subject-matter only committee hearing will be held on Monday and Wednesday. “Subject matter only” means the bill will be discussed but not voted on in committee. This might provide an opportunity for further changes to the language which we hope will occur and will speak on, as the opportunity arises. Join us today in fighting against another attempt to close Illinois gun stores, SB337. This bill would impose an entire set of requirements and costs many stores cannot bear. It calls for another level of bureaucracy and higher costs on the dealers, and gives the authorizing agency broad, undefined enforcement authority. Join us in fighting yet another bid to make felons of law abiding gun owners, SB2387. If this bill passes and you follow the instructions on the back of your FOID card when selling/trading a firearm to another lawful buyer who presents their FOID card, you could be convicted of a felony. Upwards of a million or more FOID cards do not instruct FOID holders to verify the buyer’s FOID card through the Illinois State Police verification portal or phone number. SB2387 would make it a felony for failing to do this. Hundreds of thousands of FOID card holders could unknowingly commit a felony act simply by following the instructions on their FOID card. Senator Morrison' unrelenting contempt for gun owners is no more evident than in this bid to make us felons, and no longer eligible to own firearms. Oppose SB2387! Join us in the remaining days of the Spring Session to ensure our continuing fight to keep our rights does not falter. Witness slips opposing these bills are outlined below. markthesignguy Posted May 25, 2018 at 06:11 AM Share Posted May 25, 2018 at 06:11 AM Yep, they put out the nationwide alert. look at pages 195-197 on their side sb337 That's not the only place repeats happen - click on the "printer friendly" link to get them all in pages of 5000then click on "name" and it will sort them in ascending order. There are a LOT of 2, 3, 4, and five repeats... NOT worth it now (too busy with other things) to slurp it into a spreadsheet and have the software report the duplicate records.(and look for enemy action on the opponent side).
