Mike Posted November 20, 2019 at 10:04 PM Share Posted November 20, 2019 at 10:04 PM My renewal has been under review since Sept. 9. If it doesn't get approved in 10 days I might have one for you.
Euler Posted November 20, 2019 at 10:06 PM Share Posted November 20, 2019 at 10:06 PM I have one from last Dec 8. How can I send it to you ? I don't use a smart phone. Many municipal libraries provide free scanning services. You can scan it and email the image file. Depending on the library, you can probably email it directly from the scanner. The email option is for people who don't have a flash drive to send the image to themselves, but you could send it to Molly just as easily. Redacting any personal information would involve some extra steps in the middle. And there's always FAXing.

Euler Posted November 21, 2019 at 02:15 AM Share Posted November 21, 2019 at 02:15 AM Wouldn't it be a revocation letter if you let your FOID expire? My suspicion is that that's what Molly wants to see.

TRJ Posted November 21, 2019 at 10:05 AM Share Posted November 21, 2019 at 10:05 AM This ties in with my concern about not cancelling the cards by sending them back if you move. It seems that the state likes to revoke licenses and I'm concerned that a record of a "revoked" firearm license will be misinterpreted by another state or perhaps a county with an anti-gun sheriff. In my thread about this a few have helpfully chimed in with the details that their cards are still showing as valid despite having changed their driver license/official residence. That's status quo for now. What happens when they expire though? Revoked? Then how will a "revoked" license trickle down on a background check somewhere else? Mike Posted November 22, 2019 at 02:31 PM Share Posted November 22, 2019 at 02:31 PM Thanks Molly! I complain on your thread about the long wait for my FOID renewal and the very next day my FOID renewal gets approved. Coincidence? I think not. FarmHand357 Posted March 6, 2020 at 06:11 PM Share Posted March 6, 2020 at 06:11 PM Unfortunately, I can comply with this request. My stepson forgot to renew his FOID and it expired last week. He received the ISP letter so, while ISP may be understaffed, they don't mess around with expirations/revocations. Only after his FOID is again active will his IL CCL be reissued.
