RandyP Posted July 29, 2012 at 03:51 PM Posted July 29, 2012 at 03:51 PM Good video, I did note that they show the sign on the business's door stating it is a gun free zone, the location of choice for the majority of mass murder..

Machine Posted July 29, 2012 at 11:16 PM Posted July 29, 2012 at 11:16 PM Seems like a reasonable advisory video. Thanks.
junglebob Posted July 30, 2012 at 02:14 PM Posted July 30, 2012 at 02:14 PM Good video. Thanks for sharing that Bud. I just bought the book Outdoor Life Ultimate Survival manuel saturday. The book has ideas for all kinds of situations and many real life stories. One subject is Live Through a Workplace Shooting. They give the example of how a worker, Dave Ciarlante, at the Kraft Foods factory in Philadelphia responded to a coworker Yvonne Hiller who walked in and killed a co-worker and was looking for others. One thing they mentioned was that he radioed intel to supervisors and security personel and helped dozens of co-workers make their way to safety. Something he did which was not recommended was that although unarmed he followed someone he knew was homicidal and packing a gun. He radioed details of Hillers mission to supervisors and securtiy personel. When Hiller locked herself into an office, Ciarlante directed police to the room and she was taken into custody. Given the enormouse size of the plant, Ciarlante's courage, knowledge of the factory layout, and use of his trusty walkie-talkie saved lives and helped law-enforcement officials end the rampage. Only one person was killed.
vezpa Posted July 31, 2012 at 09:16 PM Posted July 31, 2012 at 09:16 PM The part most people forget or choose to ignore is fight. I'm not talking about carry a gun or shooting. I'm talking about meeting force with force. Seizing a chance during a reload or during a point when the gunman is distracted to use anything available to stop them. I personally could not live with myself or ever look in the mirror if I had a reasonable chance to stop innocent people from being murdered and chose to do nothing. I'm no hero but there comes a point where justification for human life calls upon you to act and do your part in this world. I would like to think that someone near that psycho in Colorado could have jumped on him or something when his gun jammed. When I think of situations like this i think about friends I have in Israel and how people in that nation seem to be much better prepared for these kinds of situations because they live their lives under a constant threat of attack. We have to develop a mindset as Americans that sometimes we must step up and answer the call to defend ourselves when other help is not there.
