Buckfarrack Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:22 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 05:22 PM Sorry this probably should have been posted in IC forum. It's a March issue but gives me up and downs feelings after reading it.I sure hope the last paragraph is referring to,prior to 5/30/12 http://illinoisissue...ealedcarry.html
TFC Posted May 7, 2012 at 09:36 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 09:36 PM The primary has passed, so the last paragraph is sort of a moot point. But there is some doubts on both sides as to passage. Hopefully more on the anti's side than ours. The lack of information is keeping most of us anxious.
Jeffrey Posted May 7, 2012 at 09:44 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 09:44 PM If gun rights advocates have their way, Illinois will no longer be the last state to oppose concealed firearms in public places Judging by the direction 49 of 50 states have been moving in regards to 2A rights, Illinois will forever be the last state.
Bud Posted May 7, 2012 at 09:48 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 09:48 PM and this late breaking prophesy just in.......... RTC will pass in Illinois this year
aspen60 Posted May 7, 2012 at 10:05 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 10:05 PM Bud you give me hope each time I see you post, thanks for the positive attitude.
Jason4567 Posted May 7, 2012 at 10:12 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 10:12 PM Maybe we need a new slogan. "Illinois concealed carry, better last than never!"
I HATE ILLINOIS Posted May 7, 2012 at 10:47 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 10:47 PM i keep seeing post of it passing this year and yet from what i read on here is not much talk about rtc even getting voted on this year. last year there was all kinds of post in alot of different forums, now nothing, i think again nothing will happen this year or next, especially with floridas nightmare, have a good day cause illinois still sucks the last time i checked.

Not trying to be mean or anything just wondering what your contributions are to getting this passed. Also would you consider becoming a supporting member of Illinois carry?

Uh, I think there are posts here that we expect a vote on Right to Carry before the end of the spring session and word has it that we are 1-2 votes away. The push is on to find those few remaining votes. If you live in or near Cook Co., or know someone who does, phone calls need made to those legislators urging them to support Right to Carry.
Sigma Posted May 7, 2012 at 11:28 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 11:28 PM where can we find the list of the no hb148 votes
chicago Posted May 7, 2012 at 11:47 PM Posted May 7, 2012 at 11:47 PM If I'm not mistaken there were three republicans who voted "no" last year right? Does anyone know if they are on board for either bills this this year around?
Scots Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:15 AM Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:15 AM ]Here's the list - pretty sure it's public knowledge, so hopefully it's ok to post it... New Picture (22).bmp
colt-45 Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:31 AM Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:31 AM concealed carry will pass........

Nothing will happen with that attitude! Did you think the media was going to tell you anything but the oppositions side?
C0untZer0 Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:34 AM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:34 AM If CC passes in Illinois it's going to cost me a lot of money First of all I'm going to have to purchase that Rohrbaugh R9 - that's going to run me around $1,200Then I'm going to need a holster, that's another hundred bucks or soI'm also going to have to purchase different brands of ammo, the Rohrbaughs can be picky about what ammo they likeThen there is the range time, practicing with the R9 and finding which ammo it likes best it's all kind of overwhelming when I think of what I'll have to go through

masconfusion Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:52 AM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:52 AM Interesting that the publication is from the University of Illinois. Did anyone notice that? This is down rigt 'fair and balanced'
Drylok Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:34 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 12:34 PM ]Here's the list - pretty sure it's public knowledge, so hopefully it's ok to post it... New Picture (22).bmp That picture only shows 65 votes, the other picture that's out there floating around shows what we really had which was 68 because there were 3 who had hit the green light then switched to red to bring it back to 65. So you take those 3 added to 65 plus the the 3 Rs who voted no plus Ford and that gives you 72. That's what the optimist in me is hoping for this go around. Disclaimer: This is not any kind of inside double secret info, just my hope and wish
Scots Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:08 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:08 PM Correct Drylok - I should have pointed that out (the pic representing 68-3=65).
Satatic Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:18 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:18 PM Smoke and mirrors. I doubt it will pass because we dont have the money that chicago does for purchasing votes.
Buckfarrack Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:31 PM Author Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:31 PM Smoke and mirrors. I doubt it will pass because we dont have the money that chicago does for purchasing votes. Just sit back and watch. It'll pass.
Davey Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:57 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 01:57 PM Smoke and mirrors. I doubt it will pass because we dont have the money that chicago does for purchasing votes. Is it me or are there more negative nannies than before?
RandyP Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:07 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:07 PM I don't know if it qualifies as 'negative nanny' but some would say that "hope" is merely disappointment delayed. No one will be happier than I should Carry ever pass in Illinois. As a Chicago resident I do not expect it to get applied locally in my lifetime, but I wish all the rest of the State the joy that freedom may bring whenever it does in fact finally pass in Springfield and then successfully busts the veto and all the expected legal challenges to implementation.
Jeffrey Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:10 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:10 PM and this late breaking prophesy just in.......... RTC will pass in Illinois this year 237 days....
chicago Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:16 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:16 PM Does anyone know what Republicans Jim Durkin, Rosemary Mulligan and Sid Mathias' positions are on 148/5745 this year around???
Molly B. Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:19 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:19 PM Is it me or are there more negative nannies than before? With all we have been doing to educate the good people of Illinois about our being the only state left without a carry law - IGOLD, the town hall meetings, speaking at different venues, etc., we are seeing a wonderful increase in our membership numbers. You must remember some are finding out for the very first time about the progress we are making and they may have their doubts and rightfully so if they are new to what's going on. Let's welcome the new members, greet them warmly, and if there is one or two who turn out not to be genuine in their interest here, they will be dealt with in fair but firm manner. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the new guys and girls!! The more, the merrier or should that be - the more, the more effective we can be!
Molly B. Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:21 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:21 PM Does anyone know what Republicans Jim Durkin, Rosemary Mulligan and Sid Mathias' positions are on 148/5745 this year around??? My understanding is that many who were previously against it are waiting on the findings of the Task Force report. Their voters need to be contacting them and urging their support.
chicago Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:31 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:31 PM Does anyone know what Republicans Jim Durkin, Rosemary Mulligan and Sid Mathias' positions are on 148/5745 this year around??? My understanding is that many who were previously against it are waiting on the findings of the Task Force report. Their voters need to be contacting them and urging their support. I'd say this is an absolutely critical link in getting these bills passed. I'll remain optimistic for the bigger picture but it would be a total shame if we were taken down from within by republican friendly fire. I'm hoping the republican leaders like Tom Cross are putting huge pressure on theses reps this time around.
TyGuy Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:35 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:35 PM Bud makes me laugh. I am not as confident as he is, but that doesn't stop me from calling my reps, talking to my friends, posting positive RTC stories on facebook, donating money to the NRA-ILA, etc... Even when we do get RTC in IL and the battle is won the war will NEVER end. I will fight the antis for the rest of my life, and I hope to instill the same determination in my children.
Danielm60660 Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:36 PM Posted May 8, 2012 at 02:36 PM Well since the task force due date got pushed back until 31 Dec, where does that lead? By next session the argument will be, "That task force was last year. Things have changed by now." This is assuming that Bud's optimist is misguided. I hope it isn't.
