A pocket pistol that comes with the reliability, safety features and ergonomics of an XD? I would guess the MSRP to be around $550, but given the expected demand for this pistol, I would guess that the price may get inflated. The Beretta Nano is popular right now, but it has failure to eject issues if the internet is to believed. The Walther PPS also appears to be unreliable based on a lot of what I've read.

Enter the XD, a proven platform with outstanding reliability and durability. Yes, I'm a Springfield fan boy, but seriously, how can you not like everything about this gun?

...Not from what I've seen of them in classes. Mags bind up tending to cause misfeeds / FTFs.

Try doing 1-handed reloads / malfunction clearances with an XD and you'll see how problematic the grip safety alone is.

If people like their XD and it works for them, great. From what I've seen, I won't ever buy one.

There is actually quite a bit of negative reports about the XDs on the Internet all deal with the lack of reliability. From Doctor Gary Roberts, a SWAT Officer and Doctor of Forensics Ballistics and known on the Internet as DocGKR:

"XD's are a no go for serious use--the inability to retract the slide without engaging the grip safety makes one-hand injured operation very difficult with the XD--this is a deal breaker for me. In addition, in some government tests, XD's (particularly the .40's) have broken a lot of parts compared to other pistols being tested...I'll take a 9 mm Glock or M&P any day of the week over an XD.

To each his own. I've owned an XD since they came out and I've never had an issue over thousands and thousands of rounds. The grip safety disables the gun, once you realize that it has to be depressed to function and practice that way, it's like the grip safety isn't even there.

You can find negative reviews on just about anything on the internet. M&P's have issues with the slide splitting. 40 cal Glocks go Kaboom... etc. etc.

The issue I've come across is the striker retaining pin breaking. Saw 3 of them last season alone.

Yes, its a common issue on the sc models (I'm not aware of it happening on other models).

There is a "spring pin" which goes for ~$11 that corrects the problem.

I just picked up the xdm 5.25, cleaned it took it out for the first Sunday morning shot 500 rounds not one single issue.

Fed the cheapest 9mm GAT had to offer.

Sure one hand reloads might be an issue, but that wasn't on my mind when I bought it.

I love the gun.

Tompo we will have to hook up and go shooting sometime..

Gat is a good place..gets busy but thats good..

Sounds good. I'm always "up" for shooting.

I'm closer to Article II, but GAT is fine, too.
