Lou Posted June 5, 2007 at 09:29 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 09:29 PM I lettter to Robert J. Schillerstom , president of the DuPage County Board was a polite "You gotta be kidding." At least I tried.

c-rock Posted June 5, 2007 at 11:17 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 11:17 PM Dupage has always been gun friendly.
ilphil Posted June 5, 2007 at 11:45 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 11:45 PM I'm sure it would get an underwhelming response up here in Lake County. We could probably get support in the north and far western board districts, but would get laughed at along the lakeshore and the the soccer mom strongholds in the central part of the county. :Crying. =-(:
45superman Posted June 5, 2007 at 11:56 PM Posted June 5, 2007 at 11:56 PM Even down here in Madison County, the online petition drive isn't exactly threatening to overload any internet servers. I blame it on all the yuppie St. Louis refugees.
Lou Posted June 6, 2007 at 12:48 AM Posted June 6, 2007 at 12:48 AM Dupage has always been gun friendly. It has been called the most Republican county in the state but there are a whole lot of refugees fleeing the crime in Crook County that are diluting the base. They're trying to make DuPage County into what they are fleeing from. :Crying. =-(: This might explain why Kirk Dillard, who until a few months ago was chairman of the Republican Party in Illinois voted FOR SB1007.
dorvinion Posted June 6, 2007 at 02:37 AM Posted June 6, 2007 at 02:37 AM Dupage has always been gun friendly. I'd call it gun neutral...kind of an out of sight out of mind sort of thing

I blame it on all the yuppie St. Louis refugees.45superman:Why not print the resolution as it is writen and take it to the county board and let them pass it or call a meeting on it. Our states attorney told our board that she didn't have to do anything to the resolution so it was strictly up to the board. It is worth a shot. By the way, I am working on getting Massac and Pope Counties to pass this resolution at this time. I will let you know how it comes out. Mac
45superman Posted June 6, 2007 at 02:52 AM Posted June 6, 2007 at 02:52 AM Well Mac, maybe I ought to look into that. My style is usually more of a mail/phone/internet approach than actually dealing with people in person, but maybe I ought to try being a bit more direct. It sure sounds as if you're doing great work--way to go .

junglebob Posted June 7, 2007 at 01:15 PM Posted June 7, 2007 at 01:15 PM Mac, Good job getting that resolution passed. It doesn't surprise me that Johnson county would be among some of the first to adopt the ordinance. After all Goreville is there and it adopted a "Kennesaw Georgia" type ordinance in the 80's.
