Getzapped Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:07 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:07 PM here is a good example! ronald reagan day! http://ilga.gov/legislation/BillStatus.asp?DocNum=13&GAID=11&DocTypeID=HR&LegId=54777&SessionID=84&GA=97
Drylok Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:07 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:07 PM Why is it that in the house "mr speaker" is never the actual speaker and in the senate "mr president" is never the actual president????
Getzapped Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:08 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:08 PM And there was a resolution to extend the task force reporting date. http://ilga.gov/legislation/BillStatus.asp?DocNum=798&GAID=11&DocTypeID=HR&LegId=66331&SessionID=84&GA=97
TyGuy Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:20 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:20 PM Are they off again? I went to the bathroom and my feed is quiet.
TyGuy Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:40 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 07:40 PM Great, a self avowed racist is serving on the human rights committee. Edit - he was on a different committee and this was to appoint him to the human rights committee, but it failed.
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:04 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:04 PM The House is convening.
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:18 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:18 PM The House is working on final action for Senate Bills.
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:29 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:29 PM HB4819 was up in the Senate.HB4901 is up. The House just adjourned until 5/21/2012.
TyGuy Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:30 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:30 PM I didn't hear HB4819 weird. Did it pass?
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:32 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:32 PM I didn't hear HB4819 weird. Did it pass?I don't know - there was too much happening all at once. It might have been removed from the record but I can cehck status later.
TyGuy Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:34 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:34 PM HB4968 sounds good. Encourages breastfeeding. I checked for HB4819 online but I didn't see anything yet.
abolt243 Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:40 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:40 PM HB4968 sounds good. Encourages breastfeeding. I checked for HB4819 online but I didn't see anything yet. Now, somebody 'splain to me why it's important that we have a law at the state level the encourages breastfeeding!!?? No, on second thought, don't.
TyGuy Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:43 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:43 PM I would, but I don't want to derail the thread. If they are passing house bills does that mean that the next step is the governor's desk?
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:48 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:48 PM If they are passing house bills does that mean that the next step is the governor's desk? A House Bill that passes the Senate with no Senate amendments is off to the governor. That's the status for HB4901. If the Senate had attached an amendment it would be back to the House for concurrence.
abolt243 Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:50 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:50 PM I would, but I don't want to derail the thread. If they are passing house bills does that mean that the next step is the governor's desk? Unless they are House bills that were amended by the Senate after they came over. In that case, they have to go back to the House in their new amended form for a concurence vote. i.e., the House has to agree with whatever the Senate did to their bill. If the House approves, THEN it can go to the Gov. At least that's the way I understand the process. AB
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:56 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 08:56 PM The vote on HB4901 was 56/0/0. I don't see a change yet on HB4819 so probably out of the record today.
AFigmentOfYourImagination Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:06 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:06 PM Senate is in recess.

wilessiuc Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:10 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:10 PM Is next week the last week of session?
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:15 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:15 PM Is next week the last week of session?IT's starting to seem like it never end, isn't it? Both houses are scehduled all next week, including the weekend, through 5/31/2012. Budget considerations often extend that into June.
abolt243 Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:15 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:15 PM Is next week the last week of session? Here' the schedule.
AFigmentOfYourImagination Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:16 PM IIRC, the Illinois Senate Calendar had the last day as being the 31st.... There is also the possibility they could extend the session, as was pointed out by another member in a different Illinois General Assembly thread (it may have been abolt243, can't remember for sure).
mauserme Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:18 PM Author Posted May 17, 2012 at 09:18 PM Just in for a few min in between confrence calls, I wont be able to watch today. If anything moves on the crossbow bill, will someone post. Rumor has it Forby may add an amendment to only allow them for the second half of the archery season. I need to know which direction it's going so I know how to word an archery bill that I'm working on. Most likey will get called next week though....or so I'm told. Senate Floor Amendment No 1 was filed today.

As amended the bill would allow for the use of crossbows for deer hunting by persons so physically handicapped that they cannot use a recurve or compound bow, but only if the are age 62 or older, and only on or after the second Monday following the Thanksgiving holiday. And no, I am not making that up.
