chicago Posted April 27, 2012 at 03:39 PM Posted April 27, 2012 at 03:39 PM Pretty cool I was able to VENT Think they will explain to me why three Republicans, including the House Deputy Minority Leader voted against HB 148 last May? I totally agree with your post on "bythepeople.senategop.net". Have you tried asking Tom Cross? He is supposedly the highest in charge. Crickets chirping...

chicago Posted April 27, 2012 at 04:07 PM Posted April 27, 2012 at 04:07 PM Actually met with Tom Cross and he said he would get back to me That was last freakin' year. Still waiting Just as I thought. It is ALWAYS the same story with that guy. It would also be nice if he would maybe at least go public and state his position on RTC on his websites. Lead by example. Seems a little cowardice to me. RTC in Illinois is easy political gold for the taking. Illinois looks like a isolationist radical separatist state by being the 1 out of 49. It should be an easy subject (even for a democrat) to politically capitalize on. His silence as leader smells a little back-door-dealish to me.
Uncle Harley Posted April 27, 2012 at 06:26 PM Author Posted April 27, 2012 at 06:26 PM Here is what the accompanying letter said.Dear Friends, The Senate Republicans have established a website to give citizens a voice in legislation introduced. By the People is an initiative of the Illinois Senate Republicans that encourages Illinois residents to become a direct part of the lawmaking process. While citizens have a say in who they choose to represent them in the Illinois General Assembly, today's technologies make it easier for citizens to participate in government on a more direct, ongoing basis. By the People is an online legislative forum to allow individuals to not only offer suggestions for new legislation but also comment and expand on the ideas of others. The intent of this forum is to also allow citizens to be able to suggest changes and repeals of current laws. The Senate Republican staff will review the forum proposals, and the public will be allowed to vote on the top suggestions. The final proposals will be chosen based on the amount of public support a suggestion received, as well as the likelihood that a proposal could realistically be approved by lawmakers and signed into law. The final proposals will be drafted into legislation that will be sponsored by a Senate Republican lawmaker. I encourage to you watch my special edition of the Two-Minute Drill and visit By the People to become actively involved in the legislative process. As always, you can email me at DRighter@consolidated.net with any questions or concerns or connect with me on Facebook. Sincerely, Dale Righter
