Federal Farmer Posted August 5, 2011 at 09:39 PM Author Posted August 5, 2011 at 09:39 PM Victory! The nutshell is that SKS rifles, in their original configuration, are registerable. Just wondering, but what about a SKS w/bayonet?Wouldn't Cook Co. ban still cover that, or would Chicago's home rule trump it? Yes, bayonet is allowed. And Cook Cty ban does not apply to Chicago due to home rule, as you suggest.
highspeed Posted August 5, 2011 at 09:42 PM Posted August 5, 2011 at 09:42 PM That`s HUGE!! A shot an a beer for Mr. Lawson and all who were involved!
stm Posted August 5, 2011 at 09:48 PM Posted August 5, 2011 at 09:48 PM Congrats, FF! Thanks for your patience and hard work.

Pecker Posted August 5, 2011 at 10:09 PM Posted August 5, 2011 at 10:09 PM Thats great! now how about an AR with a california bullet button! +1& Way to go FF!!! I think without question an AR platform with the silly California bullet button should be the next step in the process. Every inch in our favor is a victory...keep pushing.
Davey Posted August 5, 2011 at 11:12 PM Posted August 5, 2011 at 11:12 PM I love waking up to good news! Woohoo go Dave!
mauserme Posted August 6, 2011 at 01:24 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 01:24 AM I think you need to start lurking in the backs of court rooms even on cases you're not invloved in. All the Madigans and her ilk will start to get paranoid about looking foolish again when they see you. Nice job, by the way.
Mr. Fife Posted August 6, 2011 at 01:57 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 01:57 AM Congratulations and Thank You.
F12Mahon Posted August 6, 2011 at 02:46 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 02:46 AM Awesome news! Congratulations! Does anyone have the same problem I have? Good news in one suit makes me impatient for good news in all the other suits. Eugene
pyre400 Posted August 6, 2011 at 02:50 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 02:50 AM Awesome news! Congratulations! Does anyone have the same problem I have? Good news in one suit makes me impatient for good news in all the other suits. Eugene It does get addicting - especially for those who've been in withdrawal for decades.
Machine Posted August 6, 2011 at 03:32 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 03:32 AM Fantastic!!!! Thank you, thank you. Nice work!!!
milq Posted August 6, 2011 at 03:37 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 03:37 AM As so many have already said: Congratulations! And thanks for all you've had to go through.
Fidelity Academy Posted August 6, 2011 at 03:52 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 03:52 AM Hmm. I may get an SKS myself, after all of that.
UtahJarhead Posted August 6, 2011 at 04:27 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 04:27 AM Just want to know that I love the work you've done, even though I don't live in your state. Anything to help keep their kind on the defensive instead of the offensive will force them to place their resources in the same place. Between people like you and the big dogs like Gura, you'll be living in the United States again after all! Great work, all!
pyre400 Posted August 6, 2011 at 04:47 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 04:47 AM Welcome to the forum, UtahJarhead!
jon Posted August 6, 2011 at 08:33 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 08:33 AM Oh Happy Days... Another crack! Congratulations!
vstar Posted August 6, 2011 at 11:51 AM Posted August 6, 2011 at 11:51 AM Excellent! Thank you for your efforts!
Lou Posted August 6, 2011 at 12:26 PM Posted August 6, 2011 at 12:26 PM I love this part: The City objected to the presence of the rifles and the City witnesses declined to examine the subject rifles. City’s objection was overruled. The City witness, Officer Biggins, contends that the subject rifles have the capability of accepting a detachable magazine with a flick of a sharp object or a bullet without structural changes to the weapon. Officer Biggins testified that “the process” does not allow him to demonstrate this potential alteration to the subject weapons.

Congrats on the win FF. This ruling is HUGE and goes way beyond just a few SKS's since it basically allows anything to become registrable in it's original unmodified form. let SCC know what happened with the hearing, i'm sure they will have some good fun with the city attorneys and Chicago cops that were involved with this.....
Ashes Posted August 8, 2011 at 01:22 PM Posted August 8, 2011 at 01:22 PM I already commented on Facebook, but excellent job as always! I too may have to get an SKS. I hear they are decently accurate and ammo is cheap.
mikew Posted August 8, 2011 at 03:04 PM Posted August 8, 2011 at 03:04 PM Between people like you and the big dogs like Gura, you'll be living in the United States again after all!I beg to differ. People like Mr. & Mrs. FF, Mr. McDonald, Ms. Shepard and Mr. Moore *are* the big dogs. Without people willing to stick their necks out, to stand up and the fight the system to right the wrongs, all the lawyers in the world can do nothing.

Don Gwinn Posted August 10, 2011 at 04:58 PM Posted August 10, 2011 at 04:58 PM You made the front page of Illinois Carry . . . NOW you're big-time.
Federal Farmer Posted August 10, 2011 at 05:19 PM Author Posted August 10, 2011 at 05:19 PM You made the front page of Illinois Carry . . . NOW you're big-time. I saw that after a friend linked it on Facebook... Thanks for your eloquent 'pen'.
Howard Roark Posted August 11, 2011 at 02:22 AM Posted August 11, 2011 at 02:22 AM David Lawson's lawyer, Joel Brodsky, is going to be on nranews.com in 2 minutes from now! Post Script: Joel did a good job. Afterwards, Cam says that Chicago's laws are so bad you have to fight TO register your firearms, instead of fighting against registration.
